It matters because Nintendo specifically requested all retail shops to return the old batch back to them.
That's why it doesn't matter where you buy it, you're going to get a new one that is not supported yet no matter where you buy it.
Does the modified build from ggtsu work for anyone with a TR remote? As in, does Dolphin recognize the wiimote?

Yea, sorry I wasn't clear. My apologies.
Just to give all of you guys an update.
I went to Best Buy a few days ago and bought a Wii Remote Plus. I told an employee the problem I was experiencing. The lady said that they do not backstock and they did just get a new shipment. I got a wiimote from the bottom shelf and in the far back. I would never normally buy anything from Best Buy, but in this case I could test it and return it if I had any issues.
I checked the wiimote on my laptop in my car and to my surprise it worked (non TR version). Then I just took my TR wiimote and returned it : P

nice move... did you check for different markings or #s on the box to see if there was a difference?
I have the TR's and the only codes i see on the box are the UPC # 4549689059 the USZ at the very top of the box, then under the top of the box's flap it's a blue background with white lettering saying BFC-RVL-A-WRKA-USZ-C0
Anyone have anything different?
Got a new one from Amazon....TR.

Bougt a used old one with the Wii Motion+ dongle now. There is no other solution I fear if you don't want to wait for weeks.
I would prefer if we could try to come up with a solution for this, instead of trying to hunt down the last non-tr wiimotes. Everyone who will buy a wiimote in the future will have this problem. Did anything come out of ggtsu's experiment where he got the TR remotes at least recognized by dolphin?
Yeah, but tbh, I just don't trust in Dolphon too much. There are several things that never got fixed besides being pretty major issues. It's nice if they'll fix it but I won't wait for weeks and in the end nothing happens. I'd rater get a used one now.
Dolphin is open source so "they" is whoever sits down and works on it.
Any dev got a TR version? I think they can't do much in fixing this if they doesn't even have one TR Wiimote to test things and mess around with the code...
