I'm literally losing my mind trying to get this to work. I've not once successfully used my Wii Remote in Dolphin in the month since I bought one.

I just bought this Bluetooth: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005Z5HT2M/ref=pe_385040_30332190_pe_175190_21431760_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

It's a device explicitly stated that a Wii Remote will work in Windows 8 x64 with the standard drivers for the device, so that's what I'm using. I successfully paired the Wii Remote (it's the motion plus version) without the Toshiba stack. I know it's paired because when I push a button on the Remote, no LEDs blink. Dolphin says it has 1 controller connected. After I click Pair Up in Dolphin nothing happpens. The LED on the Remote doesn't come on and there's no vibration. No response in games either.

I'll try with the Toshiba stack tomorrow. I've already been going at this for 3 hours. Tried installing the Toshiba stack earlier but setup refuses to recognize my device, even though I added my hardware id to the .inf file like you're supposed to.

This is madness. I just want to play some damn Wii games.

Here may be a good news for some users.
I just bought a new wii remote with wii motion plus inside, the -TR version. Ran into problem and could not use it with dolphin. Tried and failed multiple times. Skipping those, here is what worked for me. And not too difficult at all, after all those readings. Thanks to this forum for getting me started.

I did not do inf update of any sort. Not sure if I am just lucky.

My OS: win7 x64 ultimate SP1.
MEM: 16GB
My BT Dongle: D-Link DBT-120

Here is software I used:
Toshiba BT-stack-8.00.12-64bit-toshiba
I forgot where I downloaded it from. seems there is a link to toshiba site somewhere. Probably I got it from google search.

Steps I went through and it worked after:
1. Uninstall microsoft enumerated BT driver from device manager. Hope you know how to do this.
2. Uninstall that generic BT driver.
3. Un-plug BT dongle.
4. go into x64 sub folder of the toshiba BT driver, and run setup.exe. Took some time to finish and got prompted to plug in BT dongle.
5. Plug in BT dongle. wait some time again. Seems a little slow here. Wait till installation finishes successfully.
5. Standard BT pairing with wii remote.
6. Set dolphin to use realwii and it just worked.
