I'm using a Targus USB Bluetooth dongle and the Toshiba stack. I'm stuck at adding the "Add New Connection Wizard"

Toshiba's "Add New Connection Wizard" lists the TR-mote as "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01-TR" on the list but when it begins to authenticate and connect to the TR-mote it says "Detection of Service Failed"

Any ideas? I'm losing hope. =/

I have the same dongle and also had problems with the Toshiba stack. I can get it to detect my motes (both TR and non-TR one) Like this: I disable and then re-enable the bluetooth function by right clicking the BL icon, and then instead of pressing 1&2 or A I remove the battery case cover and press the red sync/reset button there, and then pair it up with Toshiba. Using any other button to try to connect it wont work for me, why, I have no idea.

OK someone please help. I have read through this entire thread. I have the RVL-CNT-01-TR black wiimote. I am trying to install Toshiba Stack. First of all the link to it is not working so I had to download it from somewhere else. I'm not sure if it's right or not but it's version 8 x64. I have Windows 7 and I try to install it but it doesn't appear to work. Do I have to disable or remove Microsoft Bluetooth Stack first? I went into control panel I'm not sure how to do it. How do I make it so that Toshiba Stack runs properly? Please help.

First, follow the steps outlined by Sukid above to get the Toshiba stack working with your adapter. Mine is a Rocketfish Micro Bluetooth Adapter from Best Buy. Works fine. Here are the steps: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=19948&pid=189694#pid189694

Now, once you have your Wiimote connected, you will probably run into the "Only compatible with Windows stack" error. To fix this, you need to modify the code for Dolphin and recompile it. The code changes are outlined in this thread: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=5011

If you don't want to go through the hassle of compiling, Xoppa has graciously made the changes for you and hosted the compiled versions. I'm currently using his x64 version and it has worked without a hitch. See this post: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=5011#c58

And that's it! This version of Dolphin should recognize the TR Wiimote. All the functions appear to work properly - buttons, lights, rumble, IR, and Motion Plus. Thanks again to Xoppa and everyone else who helped get to this. And hopefully this will be helpful to a few of you as well!

I have the same bluetooth adapter as stated above. Following the above directions worked perfect. Thanks everybody who posted in this threadSmile

I've tried the Microsoft stack and WIDCOMM stack (v6.5) and couldn't make them work. I've only had success with the Toshiba stack. I can confirm that the updated Dolphin version has the necessary changes to use the new Wii motes.

Although probably not appropriate here... I couldn't find a way to legitimately purchase the Toshiba stack anymore and was stuck in 30 day trial land as well. It appears they don't sell it anymore unless you have Toshiba hardware. It didn't take too long to find a solution. Just go to "the bay" and search for Toshiba Bluetooth and get the 8.x version posted there. Not only does it work and solves the trial issue, the INF file has been updated to include many more dongles, so you may not even need to edit it. I don't know why they won't sell it anymore. It would be great if it worked with the Microsoft stack, even better if I could get it working in Linux. Not sure what to do for Mac users...

Works great with the tutorial

I have an iMac with buli in bluetooth and run under bootcamp
Works great thx guys ^^

A real fix will be getting the remote to work on all stacks.

technokiddietoy

I recently purchased two of the TRs. After about 4 hours of messing with them and changing settings, I got one controller to work with BlueSoleil. The next time I tried it, it wouldn't work. So I tried the second controller... same thing, it worked once. Now neither will connect with any bluetooth stack. I've uninstalled/reinstalled every bluetooth device countless times today, removed drivers, tried the Toshiba stack and xoppa's mod, tried the newest Dolphin... nothing works, because the TR won't connect to the computer itself. As soon as my computer connects, the TR shuts off, losing the connection.

Toshiba stack for Ubuntu is paying....

I tried to install the toshiba bluetooth stacker but i have an internal bluetooth adapter so I can't unplug/plug it in. I can add the wi remote plus as a device using the bluetooth adapter and drivers built in, but i can't get dolphin to recognize it. Any suggestions?
