When I changed the file it was still summer 20ish and my latest working save is at fall 16 (made in the newer dolphin)

I found out that it seems I'm "stuck" inside the savestate. Whenever I open up the diary, it still has all the saves, even though I deleted them all or made a new folder.
You can still play and continue the progress on the save state though

I read in the support section that someone had the same problem, but doesn't seem to be any solution.
So I guess savestates corrupts the game or something?
Eh... I did a lot of save states and still have no problem here, granted I only do it after the save state fix revision. I haven't gotten too far into the game though (still summer 20ish).

Btw, how did you load the game? ever do load state -> playing -> normal save?
I did it both ways, depending on where I was at. If I was in the middle of dungeon and had to quit somehow, I load it at the states.

I did that that a number of times, but now it's still stuck. All the save games I made after loading the states are useless. You can see em, but can't load em.
They're not included in load list either.

Hope there's a way around this. I don't want to waste 10 in game days because of it. I know at least I don't have to start over, but still..
A question again, have you ever load a state before loading ingame save?

And wait, so your problem is if you load from state you can't save but if you load from ingame save, you can?
yes I have loaded a state first

yup that's exactly it. But it was possible to save even after load state. I guess prolonged use of load state made a mess of my game, huh?
That's your problem, and general rule of thumb for save state is to always use ingame load game to load your game, this hold true for any emulator, even on stable emu like epsxe.

Next time try to load your game first before loading save state to minimize damage, preferably, load game -> load state -> SAVE ingame then load ingame save, I usually close dolphin first before loading ingame save though.

Yes, it's convoluted, but save state was never a stable function for any emulator as far as I know.
Ok then, thanks so much for your time
I'll make sure I use the in game saves and loads more often next time.
You might wanna use Dolphin 3.0-183, since that revision fix save state, and I have never experience crash using it to save/load state. Smile
I tried it, but no difference. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Do older versions emulate better to some games than newer ones? The current revisions list on the website are newer than 3.0-183
Newer doesn't always mean better since revision release is not official, as to your question you should try it yourself. I just stick to revision which work best for me.
