About:

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny (known as Rune Factory Oceans in Japan) is a Wii and PlayStation 3 role-playing game developed by Neverland Co. and published by Marvelous Entertainment. Players control a male and female character in one, the male side named Aden and the female side named Sonja, as they traverse the seas on a giant beast named Ymir. The beast can raise sunken islands and ships from the sea. Players will be able to farm, fight using a real-time battle system, and form relationships.

Current Emulation Status:
 • Basically perfect (game breaking bug found, see below) except the sound when using HLE (random persistent static), better with LLE (static occasionally happen but went away soon enough)
 • Turn out if you use OpenGL, Xaudio2 and enable Audio Throttle the static decreased significantly
 • It seems that there's problem in newer build during tutorial, if you get that problem, try using Dolphin 3.0 http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/downloads/list

Known Bugs:
 • Ingame save could randomly get corrupted or not saving to disk, making the last save you do unloadable and instead if you reset the emulator it show the last working save.
 • Currently there is no known fix for this, but you can check if your save is valid or not by immediately load after saving data. If it's corrupted then it will freeze with loading animation forever.
 • I'm currently testing on older Dolphin build (3.0) if this issue also appear there, seems fine so far.
 • Confirmed the bug is present on latest official build (3.0) too, proceed with caution if you don't want to lose days worth of gameplay.

Current Optimal Settings :
 • Play fine with recommended default setting
 • D3D9 have random slowdown
 • D3D11 ran at full speed yet feels slow, and there are many minor texture defect
 • Play best with OpenGL, ran at fullspeed, no slowdown and no texture defect, also minimizing the audio problem a lot.
 • If you use OpenGL, don't set the Internal Resolution to Auto(Windows Size) else there'll be texture error

Additional Info:
 • I still can't figure out how to call your monsters, help?

I guess you could say it is perfect, but not the audio, even with LLE. I still hear occasional popping noises regardless at full speed, and if loading happens when switching areas or opening a chest or such, the audio takes a nosedive. Is there no buffering in LLE?
Well, that's kinda nitpicking it (I consider perfect as fully playable) and the popping only occur once on LLE whereas with HLE it stay for a while, but I guess I should change it as to not confuse new player.
I have a solution for calling monsters.
Use V2!
In V2 wiimote settings check swing and assign roll left\right and tilt up\down.
the assigned buttons emulate swing for calling monsters(I think combination of roll left\right + tilt up).
The game crashes quite frequently in V2 but safe texture cache helps a lot)
But there is one problem nun-chuck shake doesn't work(or I can't get it working?)
Thus I am able to call monsters but not knock the doors using shake control.
Ugh, I'd rather go solo than having to deal with the crash Sad

Thanks for the info though Smile
Using safe texture cache safe nullifies crash.I played for some 4-5 hrs. twice with just one crash
That's not nullifying, merely minimizing, I never have crash since 3.0-179.
I still prefer V2
Is there a way to emulate shake properly?
Shake to knock the door? yep, just bind one button to all the nunchuck shake key (x y z).

Btw, can you post your wiimote setting? thanks.
I use V2.
There is only 1 option for nun-chuck shake.Binding a control to it doesn't help.
You want my V2 settings right?
Wan't keyboard settings or joy-pad?
I use my joy-pad for it but I have tried with keyboard too
