Hello, everyone
I'm wondering if there's a definite fix for the black screens that happen in cutscenes in Wind Waker. I'm getting in late in the game, so I don't know if this is an issue that has already been fixed or not. Searched the forums without success.
This seems to be the only issue I'm having with Wind Waker aside from some flickering in the waves - nothing major.
Specs:
CPU AMD Athlon II X3 445
Graphics Card 1024MB GeForce GTS 250
RAM 4 Gb
Windows 7 64-bit SP1
Running Dolphin 3.0-151

The flickering waves can be fixed by
unchecking the option "disable per-pixel depth" in the hacks tab of the graphics settings.
The black screen issue has never been fixed although some users claim that LLE audio + audio throttle fixes them, no way to be sure since they occur randomly.
Well in older versions where you had the option if disabling HLE emulation thereby making the emulator mute before the cutscene and enabling it back after the black screen occurs, always seems to fix the problem, but unfortunately it has been removed for the newer revisions
I'm having the same problem :\
After scene (when it supose to go to another scene) it goes black screen and it stops.....
Occasionally when it went black, I whould restart dophin e try again and some times I got through the black screen, but now I'm stuck in the same
black screen
Right after passing through
Forsaken Fortress, and we get to
Windfall Island. When the "talking boat" ends talking to us, and we are about to start playing in
Windfall Island, it makes and change scene, and it goes
black screen :´(
My pcs sentings are:
CPU: Duo core i7 q720
VGA: ATI mobility radeon HD 5730 (1GB)
OS: win7 64bit
Ram: 4GB
Can any one help? plz

Try LLE, or "Fix item hang" in the game properties.

Hi, sorry for the delay to respond.
I've tried that and it also didn't work.
But I tried to use the the new Dolphin-win-x64-v3.0-178 and past the whole
Forsaken Fortress, zone again.
When I got to
Windfall Island, finally it didn't freeze

dont know if it is from the new version or if is for passing the
Forsaken Fortress all ouver again...
Is the newest version really the way to go? I haven't played WW in a very long time, and have been meaning to play it again. I don't remember much of it, so it would be like playing it for the first time.
I read on the wiki that in revision r7719 there is no need for the "Fix Item Hang" option. Where can I get this revision?
Use 3.0
The black screen crashes are random and occur in all revisions.

Random? And this hasn't been fixed yet? I don't mean to sound rude, but I thought games that old would've already been made completely compatible with Dolphin...
I can't even start the game properly... After I save Tetra in the beginning and Link's sister is kidnapped, the black screen appears and there's nothing I can do. I've tried with many versions, including 3.0 and the latest revision and I can't get past that part.

Well then you must be new to emulation because that statement is full of ignorance. The number of bugs in a piece of software being emulated will rarely correlate with its release date.
If you need more help you can visit the game thread for this game over in the game discussion section of the forum. However they will likely tell you the same thing I just did, it's random so keep trying.
