Asrock H67M. I'm sure there is no way to OC the i5 2400.
EDIT:
Or is there some other way to improve Peformance just a bit?

What do you mean by that? Is it too hot already? There always is a way to OC a processor, though of course a k-series CPU is easier and better for overclocking.

no, the i5 2400 is "locked". You can't overclock it. It's not hot though, rather cool with boxed cooler.

Yeah, the multiplier is locked and the new architecture makes overclocking quite a bit harder with a locked one, but you can still overclock it, I've seen 2400s at 3,9GHz, so there is still some room for improvement. But of course this also depends on your Mainboard and BIOS.

Uhm, but I don't know how to do that. There is no option on my mainboard Asrock H67m. And the tool which there is has a max. mulitplier of 32. What do I need to change? and do I loose my warranty? I mean, like, can someone check if the CPU was overclocked (if it's still working obviously).
Just to let you know, I have an i5 2500k at 4.5 GHz and the LLE audio still causes slowdown and crackling sound on Mario Galaxy, it might pay to play around with what you have before you spend money on something that may not entirely fix the problem.

That's what I wanted to know...so why people in this thread claim that it would fix the problem. I5 2500k @4.5 surely is more than enough horsepower. So the problem isn't the system maybe, it's the emulation
Could you do me a favor? could you check which framerate you get on the second galaxy, the second star mission? The second one actually is the third one from the left...the third floating island. Hope you get what I mean. I'm between 52 and 60 in this stage...
No one ever said everything was going to be perfect all of the time. If you're that concerned with it you should buy a Wii.

I certainly can but it may take a while as I don't have a save for MG2 at the moment. I'll play up to that galaxy and let you know. I know for certain that when I use LLE it does cause slowdowns which aren't present using HLE.
I have been baffled by people claiming to get perfect emulation on both Galaxy games with sandy bridge CPUs because I just wasn't seeing it, and I have seen quite a few people post that they are getting full speed with LLE 100% of the time.
There's always the chance I've got something wrong in my settings of course, although I've tried everything I can think of and it's made no difference. I'm using Dolphin 3.0 64-bit by the way.
