I'm curious about the effect / function of this setting. I've found several games database setting like in Xenoblade & Donkey Kong C R that force this setting on (having check box).

So Why is that? Is it really important to force this setting on?
What the benefit of this setting ?

I've tried to override this setting to be optional on those 2 games, no real changes, same FPS.

give me enlightenment. Thx in advance Big Grin
It can provide a speedup in some situations and slowdowns in other situations. Therefore the performance effect of the option varies from game to game. In games where it was shown to improve performance it is enabled by default. In games where it was shown to decrease performance or in games that have not been tested with it yet it is off by default.

The performance effect depends on where the bottleneck is in your system. The performance effect tends to be small and in some systems it does not effect performance at all.
