A 450GTS with a 2500 is kind of Stupid ! Maybe a 2100 with a 450 , if you get a 2500 , get a 560Ti !

From the 3 solutions up there , i ll go with 2125 + 460 ! Nice !
It's not that simple, he as a budget.
The 2100/2125 + 460GTx is definitely a solid choice.

The only difference between these CPU's (afaict) is that the 2125 has 300MHz faster clock-speed. Not worth the €20,- euro extra if you ask me.
For Dolphin , this is more than worth , this is "THE" crucial point of the rig , cause you just CANT Overclock these puppies !
Why not the 2500?
Quote:I want the one with HD 3000(As that gives me better backup video.)

???????

Do you plan on frying your video card?

Quote:i3 2125(Hd 3000) + GTX 460
or
i3 2100(Hd 2000) + gtx 560 (non ti)
or
i5 2400-2500 and a POS video card(Right now discounts allow for a gts 450,
but without them I can't go higher than gt 440 or gts 250.)

Option #1: Balanced. Would not recommend for the same reason as garteal (not worth the extra money).

Option #2: Best for PC games.

Option #3: Best for dolphin and the most future proof.

Quote:But it also depends on your resolution, how big is your screen/res?

His screen resolution is only 1360 x 768 so yeah a GTS 450 will be fine.

No, just really worried.

Also, I double checked, and the best I could get on the i5 field is - i5 2500 + Gt 440/ There are no new GTS 250's currently.

or

i5 2400 + Gts 450 or Gtx 260.

I want to try Nvdia and I want to be able to max crysis at 1024 x 768. (DX11 is optional but nice.)

I also want fairly low load temps. (as in, 50-70c area?)
Recommends?

At 60fps? Not going to happen. Crysis on all very high settings is very demanding on the GPU regardless of resolution. Nothing on the list you gave us is powerful enough to do it.

or

i5 2400 + Gts 450 or Gtx 260.

Second choice is much better.

Quote:i3 2100(Hd 2000) + gtx 560 (non ti)

I still think this is the best option overall, even though it's not as good as the quad core + higher clock rate cpu for dolphin.

Actually, I'd be fine with 20-40 fps, as that is how Half-life 2 runs on max settings at 720 p on my x1550.

So I should go for the lowest i3 and a kickass video card?
Alrighty, then.
That gives me 189.99(W/any shipping) to dedicate to it. Whatcha recommend
BTW, this is what I'm thinkin: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130566

I honestly think you should get the i5-2500k.(And get an aftermarket cooler later on for OC)Your CPU will stick with you until you get a new computer.A GPU is easily replacable.

By the time I start considering overclocking, (5-7 years.) the i5 2500k will be near obsolete.
So nah.
Always nice of you to help though.
If I can make due with a celeron 3 and pentium 4 then I can certainly make due with
a 2011 MODERN dual core.
You do realize that I am currently 5-6 generations BEHIND, right?
I could switch to a Sandy bridge Pentium and still be blown away.
Overclocking I'll do when I can afford to ignore warranties and melt CPU's and motherboards into slag.
I just want something to last long, and MY idea of long seems to be quite a bit different form the majority.

And I want modern Graphics cause x1550.

Basically

Gaming- Top priority
Heat-Very high priority
Last-ability- high priority
Office work/ Video editing- Medium Priority
Emulation- Low priority (I do care, but if I can't run a certain game, I'll wait for the next stable release.)
Overclocking-Zero priority

Also,
Nuk- er, "Replacing" this rig- THERE IS NO PRIORITY HIGH ENOUGH.

Have a lovely day!
