I think you're all set hardware wise. You can upgrade to a high end video card next year or a quad core ivy bridge. Everything else in the system is solid. Do you have an OS disc for windows 7?
Seasonic is best psu maker in the world. But you can still buy the one you wanted, its only $10 more.
As for the mobo, you should buy h61 chipset. If you don't like msi,buy from another manufacturer. All h61 mobo are in $50-60 range.
They are top quality, they just don't have the overclocking feature that p67 or z68 have.
Since i3 2100 cant be overclocked, its ridiculous to pair it with z68.
But if you want to waste money, and buy a cheaper gpu,and then not be able to play pc games on it,thats your choice Smile

I have an OS disc for windows xp & vista.
(7 is coming later.)

And don't make me feel guilty about asking her for MORE money.

I agree on Seasonic, but it's always safe to have a little extra wattage.
As for the mobo, the cheaper they are, the shoddier the materials used to make them are.
I could buy a NICE i5 or gtx 560 ti w/ that, but what use would it be sitting in a corner
because my mobo burned out 3 days after I got it?

And besides, I've never had a problem with lowest settings on a game before, as I am currently using a Radeon x1550, which is WEAKER than Intel HD 2000.

Then earn it? You don't have to ask her I'm just saying all of your core components are excellent so all you need to do in the future is upgrade the video card.

A list of the differences between the chipsets can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1155
Although a few things are missing such as the form factor differences (H61/H67 are mostly microATX and P67/Z68 are mostly ATX).

And it's up to you but rpglord is correct, spending less on the mobo and more on the video card would be better.

H61 disadvantages over Z68:
-no crossfire/SLI support
-2 dimm slots instead of 4 for RAM
-CPU overclocking not supported
-RAID not supported
-10 USB ports max instead of 14
-SSD caching not supported
-4 SATA ports instead of 8 and no SATA 3.0 support

Well, I could go with this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131724

and get an i5 2300
(or a gtx 560 ti, as mentioned before.)

But that makes me worry about stability.
(Mom said to make this one LAST, just like the p4.)

And I have no idea what any of those are.
(Except SLI.)
RAID?
My HDDs are plenty fast (by my standards) on the PC I currently have.
10 usb ports!? I only have 5!
On another note, my mobo on the p4 only has 1 AGP slot.
Look at this mobo it has 30 reviews and 5 star rating..

I dont think its gonna burn out in 3 days ..or ever Smile
You said it yourself, you could choose i5 quad or better gpu..both option are better then going with expensive mobo you dont need, thus getting weaker system.
EDIT : Or the ASUS one you mentioned

Sure.

If you want better dolphin performance use the extra money for a cpu upgrade like an i5 2400, or an i5 2500 if you can afford it.

If you want better pc game performance use the extra money for a better graphics card like a GTX 560.

Redundant array of independent disks. Everything you need to know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID

Ya know wat? Ah think ah'll go fer the Asus motherboaerd.
(Bad spelling is bad.)
Okay, I have 3 options here:

i3 2125(Hd 3000) + GTX 460
or
i3 2100(Hd 2000) + gtx 560 (non ti)
or
i5 2400-2500 and a POS video card(Right now discounts allow for a gts 450,
but without them I can't go higher than gt 440 or gts 250.)

So, any questions, ladies and gentlemen?

I want the one with HD 3000(As that gives me better backup video.)
But, would 200 mhz cause any difference?
What exactly will you use this PC for? Dolphin mostly, general usage, or PC gaming?

I would go for the i5 2400/2500 setup... the 2100 is decent, but if you want to be futureproof (and happier ofc Tongue) go for the 2400/2500. It's 2 cores vs 4 cores.

The 450GTS isn't really THAT bad, you can play most games in HIGH (with exceptions of some games). But it also depends on your resolution, how big is your screen/res?
