It's the core 192 version and it's been downclocked, it should be about on par with a 6750 or GTS 450 but it's bigger/produces more heat/uses more power/only support dx10, that's the reason for the lower price. The only advantage dolphin has at the moment from d3d11 hardware is the ability to use MSAA in the d3d11 backend, which requires d3d10.1 or higher compatible hardware. But since nobody uses the d3d11 backend that's not really much of an issue.

And no, VGA is inferior to DVI not superior. If your HDTV does not have a DVI port use a DVI to HDMI adapter with an HDMI cable (buy the HDMI cable on newegg, they sell them for $7).

No worries, the first 260 comes with an adapter.(DVI to HDMI.)

So, should I get the 3.3 ghz i3(Faster) or the one with Intel HD 3000(Better "Backup" graphics.)?
Would 200 mhz make any difference?

(Unless I need a better PSU than the one you recommended of course.)

And Oh God I hope this card is around come November.
(If not then maybe the 460's will be in the $90-$120 range? Oh please Oh please Oh please!)
I say skip the motherboard upgrade and use the extra $40 from the video card change to buy this as your cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115076

And try to convince your folks to bump up your budget $15 and you can get the Z68 board too.

First of all, my Mom's already incredibly generous for spending this much.
I already convinced her to go from $350 to $500(+$15 shipping), going higher is incredibly selfish of me to ask of her.
Second of all, I live in a VERY (80+F on average.) hot room, so I would never get to use the turbo boost.
Third, even if I switch back to the other mobo, my price w/ shipping is $530.

I'm a little scared to go any cheaper on the mobo.

Current price with the z68, 2100, and gtx 260 is $493. (shipping included.)
I have about $20 to spare.
Quote:First of all, my Mom's a bit stingy.

Lol, no she's not. I did my first build when I was 15. I spent the summer working for my uncle replacing windows/window frames and doing general maintenance work (contractor) for minimum wage. My parents insisted I put half my earnings in a savings account so it took the entire summer for me to earn the $3,000 at 40 hours a week ($1,500 spendable, $1,500 put in a savings account) I needed to build my computer. But god damn it was worth it.

Then I would honestly spend the extra $20 on a better video card deal if you can find one. Everything else is great and a quad core sandy bridge will cost significantly more. Here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130572

A lot changes in a few months though, PC hardware prices change very quickly. I guarantee your final parts list in a couple months when you're ready to buy will be completely different.

You'd be surprised how little difference that makes.

Yeah, suppose your right.
I really don't do enough work.
Depression issues I suppose.
(And I'm unbelievably lazy.)

Also, that card you suggested, that was what I had before I found the 260.

Also, how does heat not make a difference?
The kids these days are unbelievable. "She's stingy, she only gave me $500.00 free dollars and I'm still not satisfied." Get a clue.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAnnnnnnndddd now I feel like an asshole.

In all honesty, even I don't think I really deserve this.

I mean, I'm lazy, never tried to get a foothold in society, and put a massive burden on my loved ones.

I really do need to grow up....

(I would probably be satisfied with even the $350 computer, but bless her heart, she saw the prices for the video cards and.... Yeah, I'm definitely an asshole.)

And of course, the ages old truth: "If you earn something of Poor quality, then you'll love it far more then if someone just hands something expensive to you, because you worked for it."

It does make a difference, just not as significant as you might think. Ambient temperature (the temperature of the environment the hardware is in, which in this case is your room) has an effect on the rate of transfer of thermal energy between the aluminum fins of the heatsink and the air circulating through them. However this is only 1 of many variables that affect the temperature of the actual chip, and not necessarily the most important variable. The difference between a 75 F and 90 F room temperature might make a difference of 2 - 6 degrees C depending on other factors. I would hardly consider that significant.

You did nothing wrong. Don't let SS and his old man values get to you Tongue. Getting free stuff is awesome, it's how you survive college (usually). All you have to do is show appreciation towards the source of the free stuff (in this case your mother) and display humility when you reach the stage of your life when you have raised your status in society above most of the people around you.

Everybody leaches off society when they are a kid/teen. Kids can't generate income so they need someone to provide for them. But when they grow up eventually they will be on there own, which will teach them the value of work, and they will stop leeching and start contributing. It doesn't happen until you grow up though, so stop worrying and enjoy this stage of your life while you can.
You dont need case or hdd right ?

Basically if you are not buying 2500k there is no need for z68 mobo. Its just a waste of money. With money you spare, you can buy a much better gpu, which is much more important then mobo with functions you will never use.
As you can see you can buy a 560 gtx and stil save $25 Smile

And he is right.
Being a child is no excuse for the attitude I was displaying.
