The general tab of the graphics options.

LOL, sorry.

Turn on v-sync, hide mouse cursor, and use fullscreen. I generally prefer to leave aspect ratio on auto (since I don't like stretching), but that's personal preference so that's up to you.

V-sync only slows things down.
I like my screen to not have any black spaces.
Odd, v-sync should not affect performance for most games/systems. It certainly should not be causing "black spaces". I experience neither of those problems, but I do get microstuttering and/or screen tearing if I leave it off.

The "black spaces" are just the game not being stretched.
V-sync always causes framerate dips for me, so I accept the screen tearing.
WTH is microstuttering?

Check out this video, it gives a good explanation.

I think I get it.
False FPS.
.....not really. Microstuttering has nothing to do with fps. Microstuttering is caused when some frames are on the screen much longer than others. Technically all games have microstuttering, the real questions are "how much?" and "is it noticeable?".

For me, being an avid 20-25 FPS gamer for about 8 years, "none" and "not at all", respectively.
GTS 450 feels like a space shuttle by comparison.
Microstuttering != low framerate

You can have severe microstuttering at ANY framerate, low or high.
