They're crap, end of story, ask anyone that has ever bought from them. Their products consistently do poorly in reviews, they use shitty hardware, and provide inferior warranty and customer support. They only survive by making there products slightly cheaper than everyone else. And if you know anything about business economics the only way a company that sells such a small volume of the same product compared to other companies can charge less than the larger companies and still make a profit is by cheaping out everywhere.

best 2011 500$ worth pc for Tom's Hardware people. Intel sucks for low budget builds. Less u spend is like 700$ cuz mobo and micro are expensive. Even h67 is asking for too much. Maybe h61+celeron g530 and ATI cuz pro nvidia cards (GTX 560 ti and up) are expensive.

Just like dollar tree.

What about Biostar motherboards?

(Not buying one, just asking.)

What if I told you that I wanted to build a rig where I could emulate superbly without overclocking?
What if I have preferences?

Opinions are what make this world great.
Don't force your opinions on me.

No.

Please read the thread before posting. He told you precisely why your build won't work for him.

And PLEASE for the love of god improve your grammar. "u" is not a word, neither is "cuz". Allow me to demonstrate.

Fixed:
Quote:You're responding as if you payed for a service. People are trying to help you and all you're doing is talking down to them. Grow up and go read some information about computers.

See how that sentence actually makes sense (except for the middle sentence since there really is no way to correct that)? People are a lot more likely to give you good responses when you type coherent sentences.

Quote: Intel sucks for low budget builds.
Quote:Less u spend is like 700$ cuz mobo and micro are expensive.
Quote: and ATI cuz pro nvidia cards (GTX 560 ti and up) are expensive

The first sentence is an opinion. The second sentence simply makes no sense (I can't even figure out what you're trying to say). The last sentence is completely wrong. Both the GTX 560 TI and HD6950 can be found for nearly identical prices. The GTX 570 and and HD6970 are also roughly the same exact price. The GTX 580 is about $500 and the HD6990 takes the crown as the most expensive official graphics card that you can buy at the moment. High end AMD graphics cards cost the same as their nvidia counterparts and AMD currently has the most expensive official graphics card.
Toms hardware build from june 2011 is better imho

Because you have hdd and case just switch their i3 2100 for i5 2300 or 2400
Op,see how in both builds they used $170 gpu ?
But your are so stubborn in buying $110 gpu. Well, its your money and your computer,do what you want, but I cant belive after so many pages you are still making this bad decision ( and people actually encouring you to do it )

(I don't really need it either, considering my native resolution is 720p.)
Oh really ? I have 560 gtx and 1080p screen and in metro 2033 on maximum settings I get 13 fps. So I tried it on 720p res and I got 15 fps. Yeah, really playable. Why would I ever want a faster card. And this is 560 gtx we are talking here. Imagine I have 450 gts, I would be getting like 8 fps maybe 10 lol. Really, you dont need anything faster then 450 gts on 720p. Why would you want more then 8 fps ? Thats more then enough right ?
I also tried crysis 2 on 720p I got 25-26 fps on dx11 highest settings. 450 gts would get what maybe 17-18 fps...

The word "compromise" means nothing to you.
You do realize that games have graphic settings for a reason, right?

Clearly you didn't do the math. Swap out the cpu for an i5 2300 and get rid of the case and HDD from that list and it's still over budget, plus he ends up with a PSU that has absolutely no headroom.

Your point is irrelevant since he can't afford a better card without sacrificing something else. And the likelihood is with a gts 450 he would just lower his settings.
Having 4 cores dont help much at gaming cuz some games use only 1-2 cores, so i3 2100 is fine it have good GHz speed.
New build then.

CD/DVD Burner: ASUS DRW-24B1ST $17.99
GPU: GT 550ti $144.99
CPU: i3 2100 $124.99
PS: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 $69.99
Mobo: MSI H67A-G43 (B3) $94.99
RAM: CORSAIR 4GB ddr3 1333 1.5v

Subtotal: $476.94
Yeah, but games are moving towards a quad core singularity.
So yeah.
Plus, I can indeed lower settings, and to be entirely honest,
I play games 3 ways:
1. Benchmark mode - See how high I can turn everything and still have at least 20 fps.
2. Show-off mode - turn settings higher than normal but sill playable.
3. Play mode - Modest settings, great speed.

Of course, emulation is in-and-of itself a show-off mode.

Hey, NV, can this PC run doom?
