Hello, remember that dolphin is a emulator not core real time gamer. the hyrle always run maximum 16 FPS, until the emulator has fast code.
In your dolphin emulator, right click on zelda icon, properties... and click on ZTP hack for run more fast (you win 3 or 5 fps).
I play ZTP, personaly change to wii zelda is incredible best that play with gamepad. the sword, the arrow, the shield, all all is incredible in wii.

On Dolphin, is there any differences between the two in terms of speed? Never cared to dump my wii version...

It was originally going to be a GC game but since its launch date was going to be so close to the wii launch date anyways and their current lineup of launch titles was poor nintendo decided to push it back and make it a GC/Wii title so they could use it as a launch title for the wii. Giving it "proper" motion controls would have required rebuilding a lot of the game engine to support a completely different control system. That would have delayed the games release an extra year, making their launch lineup even worse. And releasing the GC version a year earlier would have hurt their wii sales (why buy a wii and wait when you can get TP on the GC now?).
Plus the wii version supports widescreen, which is a big bonus for some of us.

Yes but it is small and likely attributed to the higher FOV (for widescreen support) which allows more geometry to be on the screen at once, which means more work for dolphin.
