Ok, Brumbek, cmccmc is talking about Paul, who wrote that quote in his second post, anyway relax, ok, and about fire emblem PoR, the cinematics runs to 30 fps, if you are getting choppy/ crackling movies, you can see if you have enabled the option: optimizer quantifiers, because with this option runs to full speed the movies.
Well, I tested the game in dolphin x64 release 2946 and it works me very good, full speed all the game and without problems of no video in the movies, but I think that the game doesnt continue after the chapter 11, anyway if you can pass the game after the chapter 11, i´d like you put that information in the post.

Dammit I dropped the ban hammer again can anyone find it???

What are you talking about??? So anyway, back on topic...tested some more but I continue to get the choppy/crackling movies.

hey are you talking about path of radiance or radiant dawn?..Coz if its path of radiance there are many probs..but if its radiant dawn..it worked just fine with svn 3349..I did get some sound probs..but if I just closed and restarted it there was no prob...and no probs with cinematics at all..so try that build and see if the prob persists...

First, thank you for taking the time to help me. I guess I'm just unlucky here because I have optimize quanitfers checked. Without it the movies play at 11FPS, with it they still only run around 24FPS. But both ways I get the static.

I just tried to find the x86 2946 release, but can't find it. Do you have a link to it somewhere?

I tried 2941 though, and I still get the problem. It seemed no matter what version I use, I always get this crackling problem. So sad...I was really looking forward to playing this old title again.

I'm talking about Path of Radiance, USA version. Some game sites (non-US I think) call it Trail of the Blue Flame, which is the original JAP name. Dolphin lists it as "perfect" status. Radiant Dawn was not nearly as good according to the reviewers so I never tried it.

Again, I just must be having some really rare sound/hardware problem with this static in cinematics...I'm using HLE DSound, because OpenAL makes the problem worse.

I've got an X-Fi soundcard and an onboard Realtek HD soundcard, and Dolphin has the crackling sound cinematic problem using either soundcard. So that confuses me... Sad

Is there a way to rip movies from the CD and watch them in another player? That's the only workaround I can think of...otherwise, I don't want to have the awesome cinematics ruined by static. Thanks again.
Hi Brumbek, if you want to see all the movies to full speed, in this page you can find the movies of the version pal of the game, with subtitle in spanish and with audio in english.

Thank you very much for this. I also found another site that has the English movies. So I'm using that. Of course...now I'm having a problem with Fire Emblem running at only half-speed during battle and in the battle attack screens, around 30FPS.

I would think my system is good enough to handle full speed but...

Turning on dual core helps but I do get a LOT of error messages and crashes with dual core on. Sad

Has anyone else had these problems and found a resolution?

Anyway, I will continue playing to Chapter 11 and see what happens.
You must disable dual core mode with all gamecube games, because with this option you are going to have only problems, without this you can play without too much crashes.

cmccmc

not with all gamecube games only a couple

With several nightly builds I used I did get MAJOR errors and crashing with dual-core enabled.

However, I went back to the 3404 on the official Dolphin site and the game is perfectly stable it seems with dual core mode. Is 3404 supposed to be less beta-ish than the other builds maybe? 3404 also seems to run Path of Radiance faster, so now I get around 40-45 FPS in battles, which is good enough...I'm on chapter 5 now and heading toward the dreaded chapter 11.
When is the game supposed to stop? I just passed Chapter 11 and proceeded through the Chapter 12 intro screen, and everything works fine for me so far...

I'm using the 3404 x86 build on the main dolphin page, with default settings but also dual core. Everything works fine for me except the crackling half speed movies and general 40-50 FPS battles, and a few random glitches like all bow wielders have their bows hovering at knee level in battle, haha, it looks funny.

Hey I've been playing POR in rev 3851 till now and I could play it till the 29th chapter!..But man the final chapter is not coming up!..I thought I'd finish it this time..I had to skip a lot of things though..just battles and end scenes after the chaps..but still was glad I could make it till there..Anyways one thing that helped was not to suspend data but to save it only at base..Coz whenever I tried to suspend data I kept getting that blank screen..but if I save it at the base There were no probs..Well I'll try it again in the lastest build 3976..hopefully it works..The latest ones are good..
