Thanks, I'll uncheck the lock threads. Every config guide for WW I consult recommends this though. I'm not quick to blame the game quite yet as the game I got working here is the one from y friend, who ran the same game without issue on a weaker system.
Of note: Sailing from Windfall to Dragonroost is proving incredibly choppy. Not as bad as the combat, but enough to sap the love out of it (I adore the sailing in this game a lot). Wandering around Windfall proved quite flawless.

At this point, it's worth fiddling with everything possible. Have you tried LLE? That will slow it down a bit but will fix most freezing problems after cutscenes.
Freezing has all but disappeared for me now, faded out almost entirely by the time I reached Windfall. However, upon setting out to (and reaching) Dragonroost, the game has become significantly choppy from seemingly no heavy activity (though basic things like Link holding up an acquired item or song seems to cause a significant amount of hitching). This is most notable in the audio, which cannot accomplish more than 10 seconds of continuous smooth playing now, but is still very much reflected in the game's speed itself.
Disengaging the Lock Threads to Cores option didn't seem to do anything significant, at least not at a glance. Most changes I manage with configuration fiddling are usually for the worse before I revert them.
The first dungeon's running fine, save for the awkward visual effect. Combat ranges from bad but playable to powerpoint presentation though.
Would disabling the dual core function make it run only single core? Or does Dolphin have some degree of quad core functionality?
