Think I'll build her up as soon as I get back to Australia, so might take a while...

...but I'll definitely post my thoughts/screens when I'm good!

Once again, (last time, I promise) thanks guys!

*genuflects*

No problem! Wink

Seriously though that made me laugh.

If you need recommendations.

If your mobo has a PCI slot and you won't be running linux: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132014
The STX version is PCI-e but it's harder to find and they are both equal in terms of quality. If you want to build a surround sound speaker setup in the future you will need a daughterboard expansion since this card is strictly stereo/headphones only.

Also PCI, supports linux: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271004
This version includes a daughterboard for surround sound: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271005

Those are pretty much the best audio cards on the market right now, audiophile grade hardware. However for a surround sound speaker setup they are not ideal.
Thank.....*cough*

I mean, cheers, I'll look into it!

Urm...how about these?

*edit* wait those ARE the PCI-e ones.....
Yeah that's the PCI-e version but it's out of stock, it's always out of stock.
Just build a higher end desktop. Your paying through the teeth for a machine that probably wouldn't run games that well, and have absolutely no room to expansion or upgrading later on.

That laptop thing is so old news : p

@NaturalViolence:Good for you Smile
Also,PCI-E sound cards are useless after all?(You said quality was equal)

Kind of, I wouldn't use the word "useless". They don't need the extra bandwidth offered by pci-e yet so in terms of quality they are identical. However a lot of audio card manufacters are switching to pci-e since motherboards are beginning to transition to pci-e. I've seen some newer motherboards they don't have any PCI slots since pci-e is slowly replacing PCI on newer platforms. Because of this consumers are more likely to buy pci-e cards since they are "future proof" (you will be able to install them in future systems 5 years from now that don't have any PCI slots). So if you can get the pci-e versions by all means do.

Oh,alright thanks!
But i don't think i'll be getting a sound card anyways since i plan to get a second GTX580 and that would definetly block off all PCI/PCI-E x1 slots(Unless sound cards are REALLY thin.).How would a ''high-end'' headset work with my integrated Realtek card?

*NaturalViolence shudders in pain at the thought of running a high end speaker/headphone/headset on integrated audio"

Also what exactly do you consider "high end"? Which headset do you have?

They are really thin, only one slot thick. Also why are you getting a second GTX 580 (prepare for anti-SLI rant)?

Reveal your secrets! I must know if I can upgrade my (modded into 595) HD 555s!
(Looking at around $200 headphones though....man I'm going to be broke after all this...)
