I'm looking to emulate GC games, specifically Wind Waker and Metroid Prime and possible a few others. My laptop is better than most and what I primarily game on these days, can run Bad Company 2 and stuff, but still worth asking since I'm having some troubles: Will my laptop be able to run it?

Windows 7 Home 64-bit
512 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670
3 GB RAM
Intel Core2 Duo P7350 @ 2.0 GHz

I just want some opinions since I was fairly certain I could run a GC game, but what I've tried has been anywhere from 63-10 fps depending on the moment in the game (Prime and WW.) If I know my system is good enough then I know to mess with the settings, and if it isn't then I know to cry =(

But seriously, thanks for the help and the effort into this emulator, regardless of whether I can run it or not it's great what's been done round these parts!
You can "run" those games, but not fast, and not full speed.

Bah! Just ran Wind Waker in Windowed mode this time while monitoring CPU usage @ lowest resolution, still was skipping at times and CPU usage hit as high as 98% =(

Thanks for the very quick reply though!

I have been hurting my head for over a week trying to see if I can get Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker to run perfectly in full 1080p (3x native to be exact). To my disappointment, I can figure out how even though my computer has great specs.

If you need the full info, check the specs here:

Click the Specs tab

In a nutshell, I have:

Intel Core i5 @ 2.8ghz per core
6GB of DDR3 SDRAM
1696MB of Video Memory (Dynamically Allocated)

It is an Intel Media HD Graphics 2000 Card

I believe that the game is able to run 3x Native (AA set to None) but I just don't know how. The minimum allocated graphics is 64mb and the max possible is 1696. Usually, before I run dolphin, the video memory being used is about 120mb, after running dolphin and the game, the memory being used jumps slightly to 260mb. I can't figure out what the problem is!!!

CPU consumption is about 34% (although I am also running firefox and IRC as well as skype) when I run dolphin.

Can anyone actually help me with this or give me a straight answer?
You can't run at 3x with that GPU, period.

Dude you need like a processor at 4.0ghz+ to run most games at full speed, try and find an intel i5 or i7 processor

You're confusing the original poster with the second guy who asked about his PC. Either way, they're both not going to be playing the way they want to.

eodeth

If you've got a Sandy Bridge i5 (or i7) clocking at around 3.6ghz should be enough to run just about everything at full, clocking to 4.0+ is slightly overdoing it... (I do know that mine is clock over 4.0+)

(Very) Off-Topic:
Starscream, how do those new AMD processors (such as the one in your laptop) compare to an i3-2310m or something similar to that? I'm planning on getting a new laptop soon and until reading your signature, I hadn't even considered the new AMD processors...
Also, how well would they run something such as Dolphin (the i3-2310m or your A6-3400m, that is)?
You be the judge.

i3-2310m http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i3-2310M+%40+2.10GHz

A6-3400m http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+A6-3400M+APU+with+Radeon+HD+Graphics

Just like anything else, some games run really well while others do not. It all depends on what you want to play and the settings you use.
