How do you go about doing that?
Just entering you IP address that you are given(from the router you Have) and your computer IP adress?
I'm not sure on how to do that.
I know my IP etc but im not sure what to put in the box(or how to put it in.

Go to google and type "what's my ip" and google will give you the IP to use.

Ive done that, and forwarded that and my port number and i still cannot connect.

Is it only support NGC netplay?
I want to play Monster Hunter Tri with my friends. We have connected correctly and strarted game rightly.
But the controllers did not work.

I can play the game well in single mode.(with Emulated Wiimote)

Check your firewalls as well. If you can't get it to work, try having the other person set up as host.

Dolphin supports Wii netplay as well, but does not support the use of Wiimotes.
This means that you can't play any wii games that can't be played with only a gamecube controller.
Without a doubt for anyone interesting in Netplay this guide sure cover it all.
Nice video at the end too.

Top notch! A gold star for you.

Thanks a lot. Looking forward to wiimotes support on netplay in next release.

Kind of irritated with the netplay.

No matter what I do, the second player can't control the game. We've tried absolutely everything and practically gutted through every single options menu and fiddled with every single relevant setting.

I can't be the only person who has had this problem.

It doesn't help that the configuration for controllers makes no sense at all.

Local Pad 1 Pad 2 Pad 3 Pad 4
In-game Pad 1 Pad 2 Pad 3 Pad 4

...Huh?

I've tried making the second player local pad 1 and in-game pad 1 and it de-pads me. I tried local pad 1 in-game pad 2 and it de-pads me. I tried local pad 2, in-game pad 2 and nothing happens. Local pad 1, in-game pad 2, nothing happens. Had the person set up a profile for pad 2, nothing happens. I set up my local pad 2 to be the same as their pad 2, nothing happens.

In other words, no matter what you do, the second player can't control or play. Sorry if I sound flustered, but I wasted the last hour getting myself into a headache over it.

just had this issue for the last hour or so, then had an epiphany, go to "GCPad" and go pad 2 on both, and select a device on both computers and select default for both computers then try again .
thanks

This is probably a dumb question, but can someone explain to me how the whole save system works? Like, are you supposed to use in-game saves or save states, and how do you make sure that you and your friend maintain the same one?
I haven't actually gotten the chance to try NetPlay yet, so forgive me if this all becomes clear once I do. But I just wanted to get the leg up on this so I know what I'm doing. Smile

Had to sign up to ask a few questions.

1) Is the default port for netplay 2626? When I select host it seems like I can change the port there, is that right?
2) I'm 100% certain that my friend and I are using the same version of dolphin (3.0 as the guide recommended), the same version of the SSBM rom, all the exact same settings on dolphin, port 2626 forwarded on my router, an exception made in my firewall for dolphin to run uninhibited, yet he still cannot connect to me. He has done the same steps and I cannot connect to him either. The game runs perfectly fine single player (I don't have a gamepad, using a keyboard at the moment <--if this matters). Is it possible that the rom we're using just isn't supported by netplay?

and
3) This probably doesn't belong here, but figured I'd ask anyway. I downloaded a save state for SSBM that has all the characters and stages unlocked, but cannot figure out how to use it. The files that I downloaded are a .gcs file and a .gci file. I've put them in the User/GC folder but the game refuses to load them. When I go to memory card management, I can only select .raw files and not my .gcs or .gci files. If anyone can help me with that, I'd be most appreciative.
3b)If I do get these save states to work, does the friend I'm connecting to have to have the exact same save state? (a guide suggested we'd desync if we didn't have the same save file)

Thanks for your time.
