Very nice guide!

I'm a little curious about you and your 2nd player's down/up rate is like and how far away you two were from each other when you made that Brawl video. I have 3Mbps/0.9Mbps, so I'm curious how much bandwidth would be needed to avoid desync at least as far as network transfer itself goes.

I'm also very intrigued with the idea of a master server. If support for one were ever featured in dolphin in the near future, would dolphin-emu.org's server be able to keep a list of the open servers? Just a bit curious how difficult it would be, that's all.

I understand that netplay isn't the highest priority right now and that they're a few things that could be done to make it better, but I'm just showing my interest for it. Tongue

That's pretty bad Internet.Don't expect much from it.
Netplay should not require more than a dial up connection as far as down/up speed.

If you start a netplay game with multiple gcpads enabled when no one has joined, the game will lock up.. (black screen)

I don't know about my friend, but I didn't have extremely high bandwidth when I made the video. I had around 4.4Mbps/0.5Mbps. Like what Billiard said, I think latency is more important than bandwidth. I also was living in Midwest US when he lived in Canada.

If you're curious about master servers for emulators, I've seen other emulators use Kaillera.

is normal get black screen on netplay, when you are alone???
I need press connect (on connect) or i only need select my game then host and wait for players

Yes that is normal. The host's screen is black until someone joins. No one can join your server, however, unless you give them your IP address. You can't just start playing online with anyone or be "online". The way netplay works is you have to find someone who wants to play the same game then exchange information so you can connect to each other.
Quick Question, on the netplay page when your trying to setup the hosts IP
How do you go about doing that?
Just entering you IP address that you are given(from the router you Have) and your computer IP adress?
I'm not sure on how to do that.
I know my IP etc but im not sure what to put in the box(or how to put it in.

Ping time is what seems to make the difference. I'm in Japan and my friend is in Australia. Ping of around 110 and its quite good still.

Go to google and type "what's my ip" and google will give you the IP to use.
