I've spent the last 4 hours reading posts... updating audio drivers, swapping out sound cards, trying dozens of setting changes within dolphin and STILL have the same exact annoying sound pop / click sound on several games.
I have a top of the line PC and games always run at 100% speed so please don't bring up speed issues. I've tried running it in low settings as well to see but nothing I have tried has removed it.
I'm sure many people have had this issue, if you did and resolved it, please respond. Thanks in advanced.
Some games have unresolved sound probs. Which games are concerned here?
Which rev are you using ? Remember you should use 3.0 for now (unless you want to test new features and report bugs at googlecode).
With some games I have the same problem using LLE audio. A random skip in the sound here and there, not too bad usually. Doesn't matter if I use audio throttle or enable/disable LLE on thread. HLE never has this problem but it has a multitude of other problems depending on the game.
Ok. I dumped my console to get the dsp-lle (i tried to use it but didn't read the error why it was failing) and looks like the sound is ok.. I can't open my save state anymore (crashes) so I guess I'll need to load the old sound compile, find a save spot and save the game, load the DSP-LLE and load game save.
I'll complete that and let you know if the issue has been resolved. I appreciate all the responses.
edit: Ok. So sound is perfect If I don't move pretty much. Battle sounds, and sound effects etc are all choppy. It's not the pop but it's like constant stutter. I turned down the graphics to complete minimum thinking maybe it was something to do with speed and it's still doing it. The popping sound was better so I guess I'm back to square 1 lol

The sound will pop with LLE if the game isn't running at exactly 100% speed.
Well...
LLE isn't really popping, its stuttering. HLE is popping like static. both are running at constant 100%.
BTW, I'm trying XENOblade right now, which I've seen a bunch of forum posts that it works flawlessly.
I guess I'll just go back to playing it on the wii but the entire reason I did all this was to play it on a bigscreen with better resolution. Sucks I have pick buggy sound to gain that
Anyone else have suggestions before I give up? Either way, thanks for the suggestions.

If the sound is important for you it can be a brake to play on Dolphin because the sound is not perfect but this emulator is so excellent that you would really miss something if you didn't try it a little more so don't give up and enjoy you won't regret

That's strange. Garbage sound in LLE usually comes from bad DSP dumps.
