For now this kills public beta testing:-( and I hope it will be really rearranged in a more user friendly way when (if?) the new revisions will be available again for download.

That comment isn't helpful at all. State what "kills public beta testing" in your opinion. If it was already mentioned, it's not necessary to repeat it over and over again.

I guess he says that because people can't track the progress in linear way now. That or it is because this will make the normal user use less the non-release builds, which we don't even know if is true. Anyways, Beta Testing and error reporting are still the same way with the hashes and the 3.0-number thing (that I would like to know how will work ^^) will make bug tracking possible again.
So I just wanted to know if there's a way if there is a way of looking for an specific commit by its hash, to see its description, like a search. Also, how can I pull a commit that isn't the latest by its hash?

The CLI of Git uses "git show <hash>" for that, for the front ends you'll likely need to "show [the] log" and search by the hash then.

Found it, for TortoiseGit it's switch/checkout, there you can compile any branch, tag or version, real easy, and there's also a log with the commit descriptions..
Btw, are you using GIT on command line neobrain? God, I'd NEVER have the patience for that....

It's much more convenient on the command line, actually. I began using Git with the CLI anyway, so that's probably why it's more effective to work with than the GUI frontends for me

It's very simple: first of all there's no more downloadable revisions (maybe it would have been better to talk to mamario before taking such a decision for eventually postponing it) and anyway at this moment it would be impossible to report a bug tracking down the exact revision number.
It may have some benefits, but from the user side it is a mess (at least for me) so I hope that the project will be soon again more user friendly and just don't forget that we're human not danc...ehm machines;-)
