A bit confused here. So the Sandy Bridge i5-2410M is better than 480 even though it has a lower clock speed, AND lower speed when both cores are active? I will get better results in dolphin with the sandy bridge?
And thanks for all the help. I'm clueless when it comes to pcs.
Quote:According to my research , Sandy Bridge is 400Mhz faster than Arrandale .
Performance difference between architectures cannot be measured by hertz. Hertz is a unit of measurement for cycles per second. Difference in throughput performance must be expressed either as a percentage of difference or as a ratio. And of course it varies heavily from one task to another depending on how well suiting each chip architecture is to that particular task. Make sure you're not using multithreaded synthetic benchmarks to infer results since those are going to be way off from dolphin's performance.
@Sativa
Sandy bridge has a higher average performance per clock, so yes.
