ok so it s my cpu who s failing?
If by "failing" you mean "not fast enough", than yes.
Amazing post. Thanks a lot
i tried silent hill, resident evil 4, new super mario bros, sonic and virtua tennis 2009. None of these games worked properly and all of them froze every 2-3 minutes.
my PC specs are:
Windows XP 32Bit/Windows 7 64Bit
Intel core i3 530 2.93Ghz
Nvidia 9500 GT 1GB(Latest Drivers installed)
ASUS P7H55-M LX motherboard
4 GB RAM
pls help
hi guys can i increase my GPU memory to play ZTP at ~27FPS and is it secure to do that.

GPU memory capacity rarely has any impact on performance at all. On top of that you have a laptop so you can't upgrade your cpu or gpu.
thanks for your answer NaturalViolence

1) VRAM amount does affect performance if you run the game at high resolutions with antialiasing.
2) You forgot about laptops with discrete graphic cards and CPUs in socket.
We just upgraded my wife's laptop, changed both CPU and video card.
Problem is - there's no common standard for laptop video cards, they have
different size and connectors, and laptop video cards are much more expensive that desktop ones.
For CPU there's another problem - in most cases you can't upgrade heatsink (well, if you know how to operate a milling machine and have access, you can make new copper heatsink, but that's way too advanced for average user XD), because larger one won't fit, so faster CPU usually means overheating.
Quote:1) VRAM amount does affect performance if you run the game at high resolutions with antialiasing.
Only if you have an EXTREMELY low amount. Even 512MB (which nearly every discrete gpu on both laptops and desktops these days has) is enough for most combinations of IR and SSAA, and 1GB (which most discrete gpus have) is enough for ANY combination. Since cards with 256MB of vram are always low end you'll run out of shader throughput and video memory bandwidth way before you run out of video ram. Only an idiot would continue raising their settings after having an extremely low framerate.

Depends on the laptop. They are rare. Most discrete gpus in laptops are soldered into the mobo. CPUs are a bit more likely to be upgradable but even for cpus the majority of laptops have them soldered to the board instead of in a socket.
