He's right for that game, yes.

Quote:I'm starting to doubt how accurate the data in the first post is. My HD6650 has 28GB bandwidth and can do 3xIR with many games. According to this thread, that is not possible. It seems the game being played along with a few other factors need to be taken into account as well. For now, I guess the information here is the best method we have in determining IR, even if it's not completely accurate.

1. I never claim it's perfectly accurate, I did the best I could with the data from the mkwii benchmark. I directly stated that it's not always going to be true.

2. Those numbers are based on an extremely gpu heavy situation. The GPU load varies a lot based the game, backend, OS/drivers, hardware, etc.
It also depends on the Windows settings. For example, by turning Aero/DWM OFF in Windows 7/Vista, you'll get a nice speed boost (if your GPU is the bottleneck).

With the right settings, even your low-end GPU with 28.8GB/s VRAM bandwidth can run most games at 3x or even 4x IR* Smile

* 4xIR only for games that run at 30fps (no AA , 1x AF, VSync OFF)

Turning off Aero/DWM will only slightly reduce GPU load, you're unlikely to ever see more than 1-2 fps worth of difference.

For many games no, you can't, no matter what your settings or anything else are. It depends heavily on the game. Some games need 20x the GPU horsepower of other games with the same settings.

And by the way 30 fps vs. 60 fps games makes no guaranteed difference to GPU load. Many 30 fps are far more demanding than most 60 fps games.
I Just upgraded to a new pc and im having no luck getting any game to run at full 60fps..

win 7 64bit
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30Ghz
Amd Radeon HD7970
8GHz 1600mhz
Which game ?
NTSC-Jap , NTSC-US : 60FPS or 30FPS max
PAL : 50FPS or 25 FPS max
Xenoblade , The Last Story , Pandora's Tower ... only run 25FPS or 30FPS max on the real console
Mario Galaxy , NSMB run 50FPS or 60FPS max

You can also disable Framelimit and Audio Throttles

well SSBB, i set framelimit to 50fps it says 100%gamespeed but it feels a bit slow.. i try 60fps game runs smooth but it jumps to about 100-120% touch too fast.. cant win lol
Have you got the PAL60 option enabled (found somewhere in the config dialogue)?

yeh i have EuRG680 mode (Pal60) enabled.. if thats what your referring too?

also with the general config. what is best for the framelimit.
set to Off, Auto, Audio, or select 60? also should "Limit by FPS" be ticked also? just a touch confused which is best..
Set it to audio, as it is usually the most usable.
