GPU is too old..

You can't even play most PC games around and after 2004 - 2005 so what made you think you could use Dolphin. The FX5500 has poor SM 2.0 support, it isn't even proper and most PC games that use SM 2.0 won't render correctly and any games that use anything newer than SM 2.0 will just fail to boot completely. CPU is also single core (based on P4?) so even if you could boot any games, performance would be crappy.

Just stick to playing on a Wii or GC, or buy a Wii/GC if you don't have one. You would be looking at a major hardware upgrade, practically a new system which would run more expensive than a Wii/GC.
Exclamation Install latest direct X, latest driver and latest dolphin
Install the newest graphics card driver.
Idea Better you turn off "use panic handler" in configuration interface! And install latest graphic driver! I have the same problem but it's rarely and not with weak processors, my computer has intel dual core 3.00 ghz, but only have 2038 MB Ram and the gpu just intel gma 3100 (latest driver) and latest dolphin (checking it everyday). Now it's really running Smile. o yeah if the framerates still low, try to descrease the resolution into 640 x480!
Turning off panic handlers wont magically make the problem go away, it depends on the game, if the game tries to execute a shader your gpu cant decode you'll still get very low speeds even if you disable panic handlers
Yeah, we don't recommend disabling panic handlers because it potentially makes Dolphin keep crucial debugging info.

I installed Dolphin and then I tried to play my ROM and after I tried to start a new game it said "Failed to compile pixel shader!" and the music started skipping. I tried doing all the things Dolphin said on the performance tips and tricks page, and it speeded up, but as soon as I tried to start a new game, it gave me that message and the music was skipping again. I don't know what's wrong, I have a decent computer, I don't think it's out of date, please help!
Turn off the panic handler at the configuration interface! Then install the latest dolphin and latest graphic driver! If it's still have a low framerate, play at windowed or fullscreen 640 X 480! Cuz i have the same game and the same problem!
Of course, only 75% of failure to compiling pixel shaders error on Super Smash Bros Series will be skipped with disabling panic handler although with low framerate (if so, lower the resolution!), the 25% left will crash the game. I have The two games so i can know the problem, and i have the same problem, but now... ugh when 2 person played(incl. ai) in the corneria or 4 person played in the mute city, the game crash, but the other skipped! I have test it, waiting for buying wii...Sad Boring!

Anmol

download swift shader 3.0 and paste its file in dolphin emulator folder and when u will play there will be no error.

go to configuration>interface.uncheck Use Panic Handlersand ok nad game will work.imp(after configuration close and again start)

EDIT by neobrain: Stop suggesting crap, thanks.
