As much as Nintendo talk about the "deeper and wider" crap, the truth is, Nintendo's online shop has been a failure compared to Apple/MS/Sony, with poor selection of good games other than VC, even the wii's homebrew browser is more appealing to use. And for the "deeper" stuff, while Nintendo keep making more Mario/Zelda etc. (which I personally like), they rely heavily on nostalgia and their established brands, the last original AAA series was what, Pikmin? Now while I understand their strategy for getting other types of games are 3rd parties (which so far has been failing,) and they're hoping to attract them with their 3DS/Wii U, and we've seen already with the 3DS it hasn't exactly been fantastic.

And why? It's like Nintendo keep denying the fact of the position they've fallen into, everyone are "afraid" of competing with their software, that's why we only see ports of Xbox360/PS3 so far for Wii U, no one wants the risk of creating software specially suited for Nintendo's hardware, and they also, as what happened to Wii, and possibly will happen to Wii U later, don't want to downgrade their graphics/physics engine to port their games to a weaker console (because that would shatter the director guy's "vision")

So what should Nintendo do? The answer is simple: BUY THEIR LOVE NINTENDO, WITH ALL THOSE MONEY OF YOURS, PROSTITUTION ISN'T WRONG!!
Nintendo desperately need to buy some more first party studios, and have all their studios work on an even balance of established franchises and new IPs - while at the same time making sure to target a broad range of gamers.

This is something that Sony has done wonderfully, and it has paid dividends.

Xenoblade looks great, more of that plz.

It have a easy answer and maybe some 1 don't like it, but, it is bcoz the 3ds is not hacked yet, so lots of ppl aren't going to buy a OVERPRICED piece of hardware with VERY LIMITED (and no 1 REALLY INTERESTING) titles.
Just take a look to the PSP, the last month was the most sell console, why?, its easy the new firmwares are hacked and ppl can play any game they want even on the brand new consoles.
Its is a shame, yep, and it is wrong, but that`s why the 3ds is failing.
Just take a look to the explosion of selling of the normal DS when the R4 cartridges come out, and it is going to be clear.
Another reason is that "common" people don't especially see the difference between DS and 3DS I mean they got a DS and don't wanna change it. The day Nintendo will stop DS production (and DS games) that could change the deal...
meh I just hope they dont f@#$ up like they did with gamecube, its boring to own a console nobody does, and I'm going to buy it anyway...
