I'd say wait until 2012 before you start judging the 3DS. Its not selling because the price used to be too high and there's no software for it other than ports. When the 3DS Zelda (from the ground up, the OoT port doesnt count) and Pokemon games hit, watch sales explode.

Really? I was kinda young... Can't remember Tongue

Well then, considering the price will drop and that a friend of mine is going to the USA next month, (so I could pay a human price not the extortion here) should I buy one? There is the games problem, they're also double the price in Brazil, so I would only be able to get a new game once in a little while....

Yes and even for GB I was already there so I confirm Big Grin

One thing to keep in mind is that, unlike the original DS, the 3DS is region locked. If you buy a US 3DS, only US 3DS games will run on it.
Our games are US. There is no Brazilian 3DS. Every 3DS and Wii here as well as its games, is region locked to the US region :/

I remember when the Gameboy and NDS came out. Every store had one set up on display for kids to try. With the 3DS this isn't the case. It's like they marketed its release well then just stopped
Shareholders pushed Nintendo to launch it before it was ready, thus there are no games.

The lackluster battery life isn't doing it any favours, nor is the region locking.

And it is being squeezed by the smartphone market.

Nintendo are becoming very out of touch in their corporate thinking.
i have no issues with the battery really

its been in standby for 3 days now, spotpassing shit.

also, didn't know the shareholders had anything to do with the early 3DS release Confused

meh, no touch screen can fully replace good old buttons

I just went to nintendo's site too see and now I understand what you guys were talking about. Man, there is just no games for this s@%$! How could they release it with such few things to play with? Now I feel much more relaxed, when the games come out, it will start selling...

You say that as a gaming enthusiast, and gaming enthusiasts are not where the console holders make their money, least of all Nintendo.

Nintendo has put themselves in a tricky situation. Apple and Android have the cheap low-end market completely stitched up (and the casual demographic along with them), while the 3DS isn't a high-end console like the Vita - so the question remains: who is the audience for the 3DS?

If Nintendo is not able to shake thing up quickly then audience may be predominantly Nintendo fans much as it was with the Game Cube, only I imagine that there were more than a few diehard Nintendo fans who became estranged with the Wii ...
