This is not going to be much help to you now, but you should have a backup of your important files placed somewhere else on your PC for this exact reason. Especially when testing unofficial programs made by random users, you have to have an extra copy of things just in case.

User folder was still there but only had a wii folder in it now. Opened the tool once more, pointed it to the dolphin dir again, closed it and went back to the dolphin dir and now the folder was completely gone!!!
What is this tool doing exactly aurthor??? You should know how this happened. Is my precious configs and saves gone forever?? I seached my computer and could not find them. I recommend this tool be pulled down immediate until this is resolved!
It's not my fault Neobrain, nothing a user could do should EVER delete everything! Unless i hit a button that says: Delete Everything. Even then, there should be a confirmation.
And thanks mom, I know it's unofficial but I wanted to try it. Didn't think it was malicious enought to wipe out everything. I don't think people should only use official things and never try something unofficial, ever. They should expect typical bugs and stuff but nothing like this!
It's still your fault if you just run some random binary without any reason to trust it
Like it was said numerous times, the OP quickly hacked together some stuff. I haven't seen the code, but depending on what bad coding practices he used, it's easy to fuck up the whole system. Be glad that it didn't kill your whole windows User directory.

This has worked for me in the past. Becomes harder to impossible, if you power down the system so don't if possible.
He's talking about his Dolphin user folder, and not his actual user data. At least that's how I understood it, after also first thinking of the windows user directory due to his reaction.

Yeah, it's my Dophin User folder which is almost as important.

ugh...this sucks...I haven't backed up in a long time. Lot of lessons learned here I guess. This tool is BAD, BAD, BAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!
@Legend80
I have the tool at home will try to replicate your process tonight to confirm. maybe it will shed some light on this. He's updated this a couple of times when did you bring it down? I got it early before v-sync was fixed. will also bring down the newest to test also, based on your observations and actions. hopefully wont take to long.
Yes this was my intention all along, not to create a "per game config" tool but something that deletes the users user data.
I am sorry to hear this i know what the problem is and will fix it - but the thing is i started hacking the source code, adding new shit, updating some shit, changing some shit. Its unfinished at the moment, ill start reverting all the changes ive made, fix this problem and reup it.
As for now the tool is safe just dont put it in the same folder as dolphin.exe.

Of course that's where I put it. Ugh...so no chance of retreiving the files or anything?
@Legend80
Update,
I copied my Dolphin Folder for these tests.
Ran first version I had obtained early in its inception the program did not modify my user folder completeing the steps you stated.
Dowloaded the latest version while using the tool my user folder was either mirrored or moved temporarily into the PGP folder holding the dat, exe and icon files. I viewed the files in the user folder where Dolphin was held and everything appeared to be there. I had no playablity issues. I closed the PPG tool and the user folder went back or removed itself from the folder because it just disappears from view like a deleted file. I then went to the Dolphins user folder and i had no obvious modifications of any sort will be more thorough on that latter and will report back if there was any files missing.I had no playability issues. completeing the steps that you stated
I think both issues are abnormal, yours so obviously more so. I am going to have to say that using this program is definetly at your own risk.
Ive updated PGP.
@Legend80
Im sorry for your loss and i hope you continue to use this tool.
