Exactly..... What did i say? Tongue
You know you've been playing too much TF2 when you start dreaming about an item glitch only you know about that you can use to make rare items such as buds, bills, max's heads, keys, stranges, salvaged crates appear in your backpack. Tongue
Is there a way I can steal your dreams for a week or so?

This ^^
I kind of feel like shit. I'm alright at the game but I'm not that good and don't feel like I'll get any better. It seems you guys are playing better than me and I've been playing nearly two years now. I suppose it's because of the way my current setup is. I have poor coordination so I need to be able to set binds that don't feel awkward to me. I have melee binded to tab and it feels awkward to push that with my pinky finger while trying to wasd. Plus I'm lagging bad and that causes me to play bad or appear to since other players literally teleport or skip around and when I go to turn with my mouse the game stutters/lags. This lag also messes with hit detection so it takes me more shots than normal to get a kill or shots and melee fail to register at all. A little over my first year was mostly spent in idle/trade servers and when I started regularly playing on regular servers I've only played Dustbowl and not much else.
What mouse do you have? My logitech G500 has three programmable buttons on the lefthand side:

My thumb naturally rests there anyways. So I have those set to "num 1", "num 2", and "num 3". And have quick switch enabled in the options. This allows me to instantly switch between the three main weapons that most classes have. Since tf2 combat is so fast paced this has been extremely useful. I don't know how I would play pyro effectively if I couldn't switch weapons to quickly. I'm pretty sure that everything is default keybind wise. Except text chat which is j (all) and k (team) since I'm used to that from earlier fps games.

????

TF2 doesn't have a melee key. Melee weapons are treated like any other weapon and you use the attack key to swing them.

This is either your ISP or router settings. Take a look at your router settings.
I use a script so when I press my shift key I pull out my melee weapon.

Don't know what to look for in my router. Router is at factory defaults except for enabling Wpa2 and forwarding some ports.
