What kind of vacation, are you away from home? If not I say nonsense, there is no better time than vacation time to play some TF2.
Yes I'm away from home. Out in the middle of the country. The only reason I have internet access is because someone within range was dumb enough to use WEP. But it's a really weak connection. I'm only getting a few KB/s.

Oh god I completely forgot about that. Geez that's really inconvenient for you. We do sometimes play during midday which is more convenient for you but the servers available during that time of the day tend to suck (that's when all of the kids get home from school, often times I feel it's not even worth it to play during that time of the day even if I have freetime).
Ah, I thought that you meant a work/school vacation.

Yeah I understand, and it's not a huge deal for me to stay up late, I'm just not doing it every night, haha. I'll probably be on the |LAB| server tonight, I needed to set up TF2 again because I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro.
Well this is certainly weird. I installed a fresh copy of Windows to another partition. Great, it seems it resolved most of my lag issues in TF2. What is weird is that when I cap my fps at 30 my ping is halved, however when the game isn't capped my ping doubles.
Is your ping really THAT bad?
Ping isn't bad but with the lag I was getting it was difficult to play. Also it seems there is a bug in TF2 where if you get fps below 60 it also artificially affects ping. As I test a new install I am finding things wrong with the old install.
I got another kill on my s.Mantreads and didn't realize it. :p
Now we just need a strange rocket jumper to complete the set
