I'm actually not too bad with stock pipes. They are a bit harder to aim with and lag affects them more than Loch but as long as you can lead the enemy and predict their location direct shots are not too hard to hit. Granted I'm nowhere near comp level skill when it comes to hitting pipes and sticky spam.

This update is making me anxious to play. I just can't justify the price of overpriced mobile data with low caps. The money I have banked atm is going towards my GTX 970 upgrade which should hopefully be happening by next month. Really liking the sound of the Engineer and Spy changes. I don't support rebalancing of a few weapons. Really. They made caber practically useless, some weapons and re-skins are bugged, powerjack received a stealth nerf. Instead of 75HP on kill it's only 25HP now. Tomislav sniper Heavies now. Otherwise some interesting changes and additions.

Hopefully they listen to the community and work out the kinks. This is a step in the right direction. Smile

Oh and hai guys. I haven't been all that active. I mostly login or browse to lurk, hardly posting these days. A lot of time spent outdoors or visiting my parents away from my computer or playing games when I get back home.

Yeah, I agree that some changes were unwarranted and completely useless, like the caber and powerjack nerfs. The caber especially, because I loved it due to how fun it was, yet using it carried huge risks and it was basically unsuitable for serious play. Hence there was no need to nerf, and now they made it basically useless.

The tomislav is actually viable now, but the BB damage resistance is annoying - they basically buffed the Heavy, as if it wasn't already OP enough.

But most of the changes are actually great IMO, and were much needed (like the DR rebalancing, loch nerfing, etc.). Also they made multiple weapons actually viable (like the aforementioned Tomislav, as well as the Kunai, Big Earner, Bazaar Bargain, and more). So yeah, it's a great update.
The Vaccinator is now officially useless. The uber build rate nerfs make it take forever to build uber for an already very weak uber ability. Again this is an example of nerfing a weapon that nobody was using because it was already so bad to begin with, which makes no sense. I do like that they changed the command for switching damage types from special attack to reload, that makes a lot more sense.
Didn't they do that along time ago anyway?
I guess I never noticed since I stopped using it because it was so bad.
I'm really antsy to play. Perhaps I'll splurge on a bit of data come Midnight and hop on. Hoping Valve listens to the community and reverts the few poor balance on some weapons and fix any unintended bugs this update brought. Everyone was literally surprised that not only was there a weekend update, they released an update on a national (in the USA) holiday.

I know there's some complaining but I think picking up weapons could work. I think Valve wants to bring it closer to competitive play ala CS:GO. A lot of "This won't work in TF2" or "This is not how TF2 was meant to be played" but I know some of it is fear of change. It can be a good thing if done right, TF2 can remain just as fun as ever without being frustrating to play and more competitive. Anything to try encouraging improving skill is fine by me. Dead Ringer needs to be fixed, all the glitches need fixing due to the way it was nerfed. Allowing cloak regen with ammo boxes would be just fine with how it was nerfed. In fact I would have no complaints if they didn't touch anything other than disallowing refilling of cloak from ammo boxes but they nerfed it way too much. I never relied on DR and was primarily stock spy other than Amby. The only things that should kill a DR spy outright are fully charged headshots, clustered stickies crit boosted and non-boosted. Unless spy has multiple crit rockets raining down on him from BB or Air Strike. Did they fix the horrendously bad classic yet? I honestly think it should function similar to Spy's Ambassador. The way it was or still is, is just bad. Oh and Short Circuit fixed, good riddance and about time. It's not that hard to time it between a cooldown but of course Valve felt compelled to balance it around skilless morons that can't grasp a relatively simple mechanic and barely equipped it. Original SC took some skill and it was possible to do good with just like how Pyro has to time blasts, no auto airblast for it for just holding down a button.
So today I discovered that teleporter entrances have an arrow pointing to the exit.
Hmm, what's everyone's opinion on the balance changes for the tough break update? Most of them seem fairly sound and resounding agreement from Spuf on the changes.

I, of course can not check them for myself. Sitting here like fuck my internet and Verizon prepaid is now $100+ for 10GB. That's crazy.
They fixed the horrible stuttering I was getting in dx9 so I am happy.
Dammit I cant do my demo x10 NoFun set anymore.

Half Zatoichi, Tide turner, Bootlegger.

Running around with 850 health decimating the enemy team, usually with a kunai spy with me
