I want to get players together for Mann Up. I hate playing with randoms and want to do some tours with friends so there's no pressure and being votekicked by ****wads.

Oh and a pocket moodic would be nice sometimes. Wink
I'll prolly start playing medic more again with my new hat Big Grin
Well my net is suspended atm so no TF2 for me. Getting tired of this game anyway as it's literally impossible to find a fair game in pubs. Every server no matter the map has higher skilled elitist douchebags stacking on one team with new or lesser skilled players on the other team leading to constant steamrolls. No matter what your team does or what class they play it's virtually impossible to win any games sans the rare occassion. They don't want a challenge, they are poor sports that don't care about a fair game and constantly vote against scrambles just so they don't have to put in effort to win. These kids are special a type of person that are "good" at video games but lack brain cells for anything else and find fun in steamrolling, half or nearly the entire fun of this game is being challenged, fighting for the win where the round is close.

I think I will be sticking with MvM pubs or just find another game to play until Valve implements a ranking system and skill based servers/matchmaking or at least makes it difficult or impossible to stack. A nice start would be fixing the auto-balance/scramble system to:

- Lower the threshold for scrambles to pass.
- Prevent switching to spectator or switching teams after being auto-balanced/scrambled. Cooldown lasts two rounds and remains in effect when disconnecting/reconnecting to the same server. Upon reconnecting they are thrown back on the team they were auto-balanced/scrambled to after choosing a class. If anyone is against this then there are always community servers they can play on where this can be changed/disabled.

- Don't restart the map for a scramble, scramble when the next round starts.
- Make scrambles effective to balance out the teams. Points alone are unreliable so some near foolproof algorithm needs to be devised, same for ranking and skill based servers/matchmaking.
- Don't auto-balance a player that just joined. There needs to be some cooldown after a player joins where they aren't auto-balanced immediately, auto-balance a player that has been on the server for a bit preferably one of the higher scoring players.

- Don't auto-balance engineers with buildings deployed especially not upgraded buildings kthx.
- Medics need some kind of auto-balance immunity or be given less priority to be auto-balanced. This is especially true if the Medic has near full or full uber. It's an insult and disgrace to anyone that goes medic for the team which is rare in pubs on teams composed of lesser skilled players.

- Remove the restart map vote option. There is no reason to it existing whatsoever and just gets abused by trolls and kids who get upset.

Stacking classes and class rushes is stupid too. I don't feel a bit guilty equipping the Pomsom after being bombarded by what must have been nearly an entire team of spies constantly being double or triple teamed by them. :/
@Xtreme: I fully agree, except that if playing with friends and/or acquaintances getting scrambled and ending up on opposing teams is a huuuge pain in the arse. Hence, either friends on a server need to be treated as a special case, or at least scrambles should not be easier to pass.

However, it's a balance between having a fair match and being pissed off at being switched to the team whose defenses you've just spent the last 10 minutes meticulously blowing to bits. Currently, it seems good team balance is never achieved while you're constantly being scrambled while having 5 points total. Only switching the higher scoring players seems like an excellent idea, and of course improved matchmaking would be more than welcome.

And finally, about class rushes... A few days ago I played on doublecross; going as heavy, I had to spycheck every single player behind me, and more than half the time they'd turn out to be spies. Methinks the opposing team had maybe 10 spies at one point. But there's nothing valve can really do about that.

Some servers run class limiting scripts which works wonders. Generally limiting each team to 2 snipers and 2 spies max.

@Xtreme

Just wait till after 6 pm and play on good private servers instead of pubs and you won't have that problem. Plus a lot of the private servers I play on have fixed at least half the stuff you listed with server options and scripts.
I honestly think for Valve servers no exceptions and there is nothing wrong with playing against a friend. Me, NaturalViolence and ExtremeDude2 have no qualms playing against each other. No exceptions because nearly all players on the stacked team are higher skilled and friends so allowing exceptions for friends wouldn't change anything. Valve should give traffic back to community servers and make community servers default for quickplay, less newbies on Valve servers means less reason for pubstompers to stack on Valve servers. Something needs to be done as the skill gap is just way too large so the team with newbies and lesser skilled players don't stand a chance.

For those that want to play with friends community servers are an option but something needs to be done with Valve servers as all or most new and inexperienced players are being sent to Valve servers.
I would rather have them play on valve servers than shit up my servers. Valve servers offer them a good place to learn the basics. But once you understand the mechanics of the game you should probably move on to private servers.
Those pubstompers should take note and play against similarly skilled opponents on community, private or invite servers that is if they are as good as they think they are. Valve servers are not really a good place to pick up the game, learn the basics and fool around anymore because of tryhard pubstompers quickly rolling the other team. I don't want to play on clan servers either where several players are comp level, they might stack or be facing the same imbalanced teams issue. A casual no pressure server with similarly skilled mature players would be nice but mature players and good sportsmanship seem to be a rarity in the TF2 community.

I resorted to Valve servers and simple maps because my performance started to deteriorate and started doing terrible in comparison to how well I did before. I am having trouble hitting most of my shots now not to mention hitreg being such a joke.
Well, there's nothing wrong with playing against a friend, but sometimes you wanna play together. Especially if you're in a Skype call, and are doing great helping each other (and being like the only two players on the server actually trying to achieve some teamwork, if only as a pair), and then you get scrambled.

Also, I'm going to sound like a total noob here... But how exactly do you find a private server? I assume you have to use the advanced server search tool, and I have done that before, but what do you search for to find a good server?

As for class limiting scripts: it works, but it can also get very annoying if, say, you're a good sniper, but the server you're on already has two noob snipers that are basically doing nothing for the team. Also, I've seen a lot of servers implement these scripts for all classes... Which is pretty stupid. Sometimes, you may need more than two soldiers/demomen/scouts/whatever.
And of course, there will always be people afk. Which will nevertheless be taking up a class slot.
