There isn't even a TF2 beta anymore

There is, they merged it into the normal Tf2. Right click on game and select beta
Oh thats right, that's what I meant
Seems like a good thing to me. Why have two copies of the same assets eating up extra HDD space and bandwidth?
People with toasters, reducing the quality of your game since 2010.

First, they remove mat_picmip -10 because of performance issues, THEN they remove hwm models and facial animations. NOW they decided to make mat_picmip ALWAYS default to 0 no matter what you set it to. You can still set it to -1 via the console though.
Decreasing mat_picmip decreases lod bias, which can cause a lot of spacial aliasing, and also reduces performance. I do NOT recommend EVER bringing it below 0. You're reducing quality and performance at the same time.
That's not how it works in the Source engine.
Yes, that IS how it works. mat_picmip is the LOD offset for mip maps. If you turn it down below 0, you might get increased texture clarity, but you'll also get increased aliasing. TF2 is textured in such a way that the appearance of texture aliasing is greatly lessened, possibly to the point that someone with consolepeasant eyes might not notice it at all, even with mip mapping turned off, but, in community maps, it's absolutely terrible.
Geez I'm getting the same or worse choke/jitter with Verizon lte as I did Sprint 3G Evdo. :/

Plus fps lag makes it harder to hit shots, I can go to rocking the server and being credit to team to like I just started playing. My current setup is suboptimal as well since I have my system hooked to my lcd television, keyboard and mouse on the coffee table hunched over trying to play while sitting on the couch.
Playing over a mobile network is shit.
