Yeah EU invade soon plz.

They said capitalism was good, they said let business run itself without government involvement that it would be a good idea. However in the end to consumer loses out and these corps taking advantage of consumers become too big to die off through strict policies and monopolization of markets to give something else a chance to compete.

Government is trying to get involved to regulate broadband and expand terrestrial broadband to rural areas but it has been a flop for the most part. They gave corps like Verizon breaks, amenities and funding but all Verizon did is take the money without living up to their side. The government said, "Lol, it's ok Verizon keep the free money we gave you" and never levied any fines or other punishment against them. :/

Capitalism Ho!

It is a good idea. We have tons of regulation right now at every level that makes it damn near impossible to establish competition. The problem is not lack of government involvement. It's that any government involvement is managed by former lobbyists that use it to their advantage to make their companies even stronger.
The world would be better if everywhere was Europe, really.

Did you know that the average American thinks the US is extremely far ahead in technology and infrastructure? They also think that Canada is ~5-20 years behind. Oh, average American, how I love to make fun of you.

I swear, one day I'm moving to the place in Europe that is most like Canada. Not French Canada, for reasons, but English Canada.

EDIT: This is really getting off topic from TF2.

How about them new weps? I've actually managed to start a chain with the Tide Turner, and I just played for ~5 minutes when the item came out. I haven't touched the game yet since, but that is seriously a fun little thing.
People complaining about bad performance on Toasters. That's what TF2 has become
I see. Corps like Verizon don't really have much competition because their network reaches places others don't. Atm Verizon is the only option for Lte service out here and I'm glad to find that out. But that allows them to gouge customers because others networks are lagging behind so there is either a complete lack of coverage in some areas or there is only 1x, 3G/EVDO from other carriers in these area. Maybe if more providers join the games and are directly competitive offering similar coverage we might see more sane prices.

Although how is pricing more sane overseas compared to here, what other factors are involved? I know the EU has strict regulations which led to suing Microsoft for anti-trust and monopoly accusations but something like that would never happen here.

Anyways this may be derailing this thread too much so I'd prefer to continue discussion in the random thread.
Microshaft had charges pressed by the US government in the 90's on accusations of monopolization because they included Internet Explorer with their operating system.

My toaster plays it just fine.
kinkinkijkin Wrote:My toaster plays it just fine.

That's because it's not a toaster. It's more of a conventional oven with no bells or whistles.

State, local, and federal legislation and regulation. Population density. Existing infrastructure. A populace that doesn't put up with shareholder greed.

Xtreme2damax Wrote:Corps like Verizon don't really have much competition because their network reaches places others don't.

Yup. And part of the reason for that is monopoly agreements with state/local governments that make it illegal for anyone else to provide infrastructure in a given area (they're more relaxed about cell towers though).

So the Nazis were right all along. I knew it!

In the bible belt states maybe. Everywhere else, I doubt it.

Because it's full of french canadians?

It's delfino plaza. Nobody cares.

I love all of them except the classic. I also love the nerfs they implemented to demo, pyro, and heavy. Now if I play other classes against decent players I actually have a shot of doing decent.

Meh, more like a toaster oven large enough for something like a turkey.

Yes, because it's full of French Canadians. No other sort of what I technically am do I dislike more than French Canadians. They probably think that the fact that I try to act like an English Canadian threatens their way of life.
