You can, but it's apparently far inferior to using OGL on linux, or just using D3D. I wouldn't bother, but, if you want, there's a start param for it. Can't remember it for the life of me, though.

There's no tearing in DX9, but in Linux OpenGL, VSync basically destroys the performance. This wouldn't happen with Adaptive VSync.

Valve either needs to improve the votekick system or remove it altogether. Getting tired of idiot kids and their buddies abusing votekick to kick innocent players. Today I join a Valve server and there were four immature kids playing. It quickly became apparent they were buddies who took the server hostage for their personal use and votekicked anyone else that joined. Not even two seconds after joining I was kicked for no reason. I came back five or six times with alts to cuss them out and call them moronic idiots and advised them to grow the hell up and not abuse votekick. If those asshats want a server to themselves then they need to cough up the cash and pay for one. They eventually all changed their names to "Gooby" so it was confirmed they all are friends besides immature idiot children that have zero respect or consideration.
Sorry I am just a bit upset. Wish Valve would do more to make this game enjoyable like..
- Overhaul the votekick, scramble and autobalance system and make votekick more difficult to abuse.
- Properly balance the classes stock and unlock weapons and officially implement class limits.
- Fix any potentially game breaking bugs and glitches, improve performance and stability i.e. optimization.
- Better surround sound, positional audio and sound falloff.
- Fix sound looping bug.
- Fix action slot item sound playing when choosing classes with action slot items equipped in their loadout.
- Make no teammate bumping default and disable the wait command by default.
How to fix scramble and autobalance..
Autobalance:
- Implement a cooldown and don't autobalance someone that just joined.
- Don't autobalance Engineers with buildings deployed and upgraded.
- Don't autobalance Medics especially not Medics with full ubers.
- Don't autobalance spectators.
Team Scramble:
- Make the threshold for a scramble to pass lower and don't count players that didn't vote, the majority that voted wins the vote.
- Proper scramble that doesn't shift only one or two players to the other team. Take the highest scoring players based on spm into account and shift some over to the losing team so the teams are balanced out.
- Implement a cooldown lasting one or two rounds that prevents team switching after a scramble takes place and stays in effect even if you disconnect and reconnect.
- Don't forget next map votes.
- Don't restart the map and timer, scramble at the end of a round.
How to fix votekick:
- Only suggestion atm is to allow votekicking someone on the other team. No ideas yet how to improve or fix votekick to make it more difficult to abuse votekick without making it difficult to kick legitimate griefers, idle/afk players, scammers and cheaters.
Improve netcode and lag composition to fix or improve the following:
- Fix inaccurate player positions and rotation.
- Fix facestabs
- Fix flamethrower issues due to lag composition
- Fix invisible players and wrong team colors and other netcode related glitches.
- Fix perma Jarate, Mad Milk and crit and uber effects.
- Fix melee and weapon reach and axis. No more being meleed from ten feet away, being airblasted or ignited by flames from ten to fifty feet away or hitting players behind you with the DA as a Soldier.
- Better performance over poor connections so the game has less issues over slow and higher latency connections. Align hitboxes with models more accurately and improve hit registration.

I won't be able to trade it for another couple days due needing to renew my internet service which I won't be able to do until Sunday. Went on an unboxing spree and unboxed five or six killstreak kits, one lucky night netted me four or five specialized killstreak kits.

Me as bad as them? Naw, not even close. Just because I spoke up and lit into them for being immature jerks doesn't make me anything like them. I'm not the one that stacks teams, abuses votekick to kick innocent players, abuses exploits and scripts to gain unfair advantages. I'm fairly cordial and laid back while playing most times, prefer a fair game and stick around to help newbies rather than switch to the stacked team. I certainly wouldn't hold a server hostage for personal use with friends and votekick anyone else that joined that particular server. I kept rejoining hoping they would grow a brain and tire of votekicking everyone. I have enough alts that I hoped they would give up after rejoining several times. So I called them idiots, asshats, immature jerks/kids, told them to grow up and not abuse votekick, it's not like that wasn't the truth and don't see how it makes me as bad as them. Everyone else has as much right to play on the server as they do, not like they owned the server and were footing the bill. I was just hoping to not only defend myself but speak up against their antics abusing votekick and instill some sense into them and realise votekicking was futile since I could keep returning indefinitely if I wanted to.
If by bs sniping you mean being hit even after taking cover around a corner I agree. But that issue is present with all classes that have hitscan weapons and Heavy is usually the worst offender.
OMG. Snipers are so bullshit! The headboxes are bigger than the actual, tiny heads on the playermodels of an extremely fast-moving game, and they have a thing that lets them counter their main predator, but lose ability to counter their secondary predator! Balance, Valve!

OMFG WHY IS THIS HIGHLY-ACCURATE CLASS REQUIRING PATIENCE AND ACCURACY, NOT TO MENTION ACCURACY, SO DIFFICULT IN A GAME THAT MOVES AT THE PACE OF THE FASTEST SOLLY? BULLSHIT!
But, srsly, that class gives too much power into the hands of those skilled enough to use it, and drains fun from those who try to play all of the classes, and think that they suck at video games because they can't play sniper in TF2 (which, at times, is even more difficult than playing a blueplate-only server in any tribes game). And also is the most susceptible to heavily-exploitable, unintentional, game-dealing bugs, as I've seen.
Well yeah sniper is a skill based class but still fundamentally broken..
- The ability to one shot quick scope most classes excluding Heavy, Pyro, Soldier, Demoman.
- Lack of realistic weapon physics that would balance the game out more. Heavies flailing miniguns around like toys and lack of weapon sway mechanics.
- 1v1 being broken against skilled snipers. Literally no way to counter other than spy in some cases or more than one sniper on a team hence the three plus sniper/spy syndrome in pubs. They can drop half the team and can be difficult to close in to kill the sniper unless you are able to flank. Most of the time everything is locked down that it can be nearly impossible to flank to kill key targets and due to narrow paths in some maps using dead ringer is more necessary because bs cloak flicker with the stock watch.
- Despite Valve adding a delay to the scope to balance the class it seems snipers can still scope directly in on any head at any distance. A tiny one pixel head across the map rarely missing a shot, I don't get how unless that person spends a lot of time in front of a computer vigorously training. I like to joke about some people taking this game too seriously; to become that good they must train like the Koreans and Chinese, never leaving their computer until they pass out/away due to extreme sleep deprivation or other health issues from sitting too long and lack of nourishment.
- Headshots no matter how erratically someone moves or if the crouch when the sniper scopes in. Gj lag & lag compensation for contributing to mine and others deaths. The enemy always seems to have some inane psychic ability they know the exact direction you will move and the exact spot you will be in before you ever move. Demoman's eyes must give him super depth perception that he can see through walls because they know exactly where to aim to land stickies and direct pipers even if I am moving and on the opposite side of a building than they are out of sight.
Proper weapon mechanics and physics would solve many balance issues. Removing or nerfing the ability to charge stickies would solve winbomb sticky spam. Reducing the fire rate, clips, increasing reload time and ensuring a clip is fully reloaded would fix overwhelming spam and buff the Pyro class without resorting to broken unlocks to balance the Pyro. No more using up a full clip and firing another shot without fully reloading a rocket, pipe or sticky into the chamber.
- Also improve auto reload. It's annoying as it is currently and throws off accuracy due to the flailing viewmodel, at least implement a shore delay after ceasing fire.
- See that Heavy behind an object or prop where you mistakenly presume you are safe, quite deceiving cause Hoovy's laser eyes of death so he can still shoot you even if his weapon isn't visible.
- Fix being locked into taunt pose. Taunt sliding can stay, that is fun and does nothing much to ruin gameplay, at least nothing major.
Face it, the majority of players don't take the game seriously, have no interest in comp play and will never be as good as the minority of comp bastards and other skilled players. I have to try learning several things myself just because I didn't have anyone to show or tell me how to do something. Sometimes I can do exceptionally well but am still at a disadvantage so my bad days far exceed my good days especially due to my current internet situation. I'd really like to learn how to rocket jump around like a pro scoring mantread and market gardner kills but can only manage to pull of some basic jumps such as a simple rocket jump, propel in a certain direction or off a wall. I can't fly and zip around the maps like these pro no life level players can. I can't figure out how to pogo or to tell if I'm pogoing and it's hard to control direction and bounce off other walls after hitting the first.
To the video above can you offer a brief explanation and summary? Don't really want to watch a seven minute video that will probably bore me.
