Related to that, I brought one of my real life friends to a short pubstomp that I was doing, 'cause Wind Waker and Terraria nonstop got boring, and I must say that the new hats look nice, like a real advantage.

It's really not that hard. Especially on the easier difficulty levels.

My guide to playing competitive MVM:

Part 1. Class composition:
-Do not play sniper or spy, period
-Make sure your team has at least one scout, switch classes as necessary
-Make sure your team has at least one medic, switch classes as necessary
-Make sure your team has at least one engineer, switch classes as necessary
-Pyros can be useful, but they're overrated compared to your other options, only do it if your team specifically requires it (airblasts for super scouts for example)
-Soldiers are basically inferior versions of demoman. They can be useful but not as useful. Always choose demoman over soldier when given the option.
-Likewise heavies can be useful but they're inferior to demoman. Their biggest advantage is their ability to fire continuously for long periods of time as long as they have ammo. They don't have to stop to reload like demos do. But demos outgun them in both sustained and burst DPS once fully upgraded. A sticky nest can one hit kill tricky enemies like giant medics and super scouts. Which are otherwise extremely difficult to deal with. They can also fire from behind cover, move around while firing, and deal splash damage to large groups of enemies. All of which are huge advantages.

I think 3 demos, a medic, an engi, and a scout is the ideal team. The classes are nowhere near balanced in MVM (unfortunately because I would love to be able to use other classes on higher difficulty settings but it's just too hard unless you use the right classes). I've tried this composition several times before on advanced difficulty and it was a complete cakewalk. Demos can be substituted for heavies or soldiers and you'll still have a pretty good class composition. If you're playing lower difficulties you can use almost any class composition and still have an easy victory. Experience does compensate heavily for bad class composition but only up to a point.

Part 2. Loadout:
If medic
-ubersaw (preferred) or amputator
-kritzkrieg
-crusaders crossbow

If scout
-primary doesn't matter
-mad milk
-sandman or Fan O War (sandman preferred in most situations)

If Engineer
-Rescue ranger or widowmaker (rescue ranger preferred in most situations)
-wrangler or short circuit (wrangler preferred in most situations)
-the jag

If demoman
-grenade launcher
-stickybomb launcher
-any melee

If heavy
-minigun (preferred), brass beast, or heatmaker
-sandvich
-gloves of running urgently

If soldier
-primary doesn't matter much
-buff banner
-equalizer or escape plan (escape plan preferred)

If pyro
-depends on the situation (phlog if you want damage and can live without airblast, degreaser if you plan to airblast a bit and want to use the flare gun a lot, stock if you plan to use airblast a lot and/or flare gun little)
-flare gun is best overall (preferred), detonator and scorch shot are best for charging the phlog
-axtinguisher or postal pummeler for damage (preferred), powerjack for speed

If spy
-diamondback or L'Etranger
-dead ringer
-anything other than your eternal reward

If sniper
-Machina or hitmans heatseeker, bazaar bargain if you're REALLY good
-jarate, razorback, or cozy camper (jarate preferred)
-Bushwacka if you have jarate, tribalman's shiv otherwise

Going to stop here. Far too much to write now that I think about it.
Part 3: WTF do I do with my class?

Part 4: How to work together efficiently

Part 5: Enemies

Part 6: Maps

Part 7: Difficulties

Part 8: MVM and tf2 general mechanics (how to get started)

Nobody of any value will care. For your own good stop giving a shit about what other other people think of you. Especially random people on the internet. Even more especially youtube commenters (easily the worst community on the internet that I have ever had the displeasure of encountering).

Because everyone knows it's a terrible game. The first crysis was the only one worth playing imo.
I know how to play TF2 properly. I used to play competitively, and keep up well with strategies, even though I rarely play. I'm far out of practice is all.
Well if you want some practice send me a friend request sometime (I have no idea what your steam name is or I would send you one).
I always wanted to play competitive Sad, but I'm too lazy to get into it
It takes real dedication to have fun with competitive play. I had a friend who was really dedicated to playing competitively while I was playing competitively, and I wasn't really too dedicated to it. He got a place on a team, and I was still just being grabbed for single, insignificant matches by teams that were down a player, if anything.
I mean like getting in to a team, once I'm in I would be serious :p
I bet being on a team would be fun. I was actually on a team for another game once, it was fun. But we were considered the worst team around, because our skill levels at that were so varying that we couldn't work together effectively. Moral of the story: If someone's far better than the rest of your team, kick them off.
I hate competitive. Most of them are immature assholes (kids) that stack on low skill servers then troll everyone with remarks like "git gud", "rekt" or taunts after every kill etc.. to be jerks and vote against scrambles or switch back when a balance or scramble takes place. It seems they forget they were newbs once like everyone else or maybe compensating for their insecurities. Every Valve server is stacked to the brim now and even if not stacked any skilled players serve to unbalance teams in a low skilled environment. The whole fun of playing is fighting for a victory i.e. a fair fight that comes very close and I wonder how these kids never get bored of stacking on Valve servers everyday and constantly steam rolling the low skill newbie team. I often stay on the newbie team to help them and sometimes I can bring the team to victory but there is only so much you can do for a team of potatos in a potato sack. The newbie team often has poor composition i.e. snipers/spoes that can't play the classes well, barely any powerhouse classes, no medic, no engineers or engineers that use minis if they are the only engineer on the team or on defense. The common reaction on Valve pubs with newbies if they are being killed by snipers is suddenly three or more of them will respawn as a sniper or spy then proceed to still get their asses kicked because they lack the skill required for those classes despite getting a lucky pick once in a while.

Btw I can lend Mann Up tickets to whomever is interested in joining me, can either trade me items/metal on the spot or pay me back later. I just need some leverage against idiots abusing votekick so I can complete missions so I'd prefer to go in with at least three friends.
You seem to be confusing "clans playing in pub servers" with "competitive play".
What's the difference lol? A bunch of clan members or skilled players come in, stack on one team and steamroll every game.. In the majority of cases these are kids from competitive play and often tend to be immature assholes.
