You get more drops if you play consistently. I don't know how the calculate "consistently", but it happens.
lol no
You only get so many drops per week. It's random but usually the cap is no more than eight items per week. You can only stack two weeks worth of drops so if you don't play one week or get all your drops you'll receive them next week when you play.

Around 72 unique cosmetics atm some slightly expensive sans bills, buds bmoc etc.. nothing too valuable yet. Then over 20 vintage weapons , around 20 genuine cosmetics. All regular stranges, all crate 40. 50 and 60 salvaged stranges and currently two crate 30 stranges. All Smissmass 2013 festive stranges, most Smissmass 2012 festive stranges. Lastly I have strange parts on some weapons with the most expensive being headshot kills on my Ambassador and Rifle, Killstreak kits, taunts, giftapults, four Tour of Duty tickets.

Just wait till I get bills, bmoc, buds, ebenezer, expensive genuine, s.Krits, s.Machina, s.Gunslinger, 2011 strange festives and some unusuals. I probably paid more than what my bp is worth but whatever lol, not like I am that bad off I can't afford it. I think my bp went down by $4 or so recently so it's worth $390 now.

Then I can sell most of my backpack for some more games and beefy hardware for a new upgrade. Tongue

Such is the cycle..
Yeah, my most expensive item is a bmoc (I sold my bills hat for it)

Please for the love of god start googling this shit before you post it. The drop rate functions are publicly available online and this is complete nonsense.

A little of both. I am quite busy lately and unfortunately this will continue to get much worse over the coming months/years as I get swamped by upper level classes and begin a new more stressful position at my workplace.

And yes I'm also getting a little bored of tf2 lately. The only reason I'm still playing it at all other than familiarity and the fact that some of my friends still play it is the fact that I have nothing to replace it with. Teamplay fps games are dying as a genre unfortunately. At least among the AAA devs that make games that can actually build a decent sized userbase.

Yeah but you live on the wrong side of the planet. The timezone difference ensures that we will (or at least I will) probably never get to play with you.

True story: I'm actually using TF2 as a virtual bank cause I suck with money and just spend spend spend even neglecting some not so important bills such as television. Only got television due to the poor internet situation here, regardless I usually only watch once show and once in a while a recording on my dvr. Not exactly rushing to pay that bill, only pay enough to keep the service on as I'm hopelessly locked into a two year contract. I have no choice with my rent and utilities so those got to be paid on time. When I get enough in TF2 items I might cash out and sell most of my backpack other than high level stranges for cash on Paypal. THen use that cash to purchase some beefy hardware for a complete system upgrade and purchase more games. Probably will set it up as a Steam box to stream to other computers and devices in my house or purchase the hardware to assemble a dedicated box that isn't my main system. Then make some real life gamer friends and have a jolly good time.

@NV wow, if you don't mind answering what is your job and position? It seems like you hold a fairly important position, are you also still in school/college?

That's not really something where one would think to google, really. It was based entirely on observation, and I'd never known that it was freely-available information. Pretty much, that would've been like if I were to google whether or not high temperatures are dangerous to the CPU, except that I was wrong in what I had taken from my own observations.
kinkinkijkin Wrote:That's not really something where one would think to google, really.

Why the fuck shouldn't someone google that? It saves you from making guesses and assumptions that can easily be verified or refuted.

Google anything you don't know. Period. There is never an excuse not to when it takes so little of your time.

kinkinkijkin Wrote:It was based entirely on observation,

What observation? How could you have possibly determine that purely from observation? Did you even take any measurements or collect any data at all?

kinkinkijkin Wrote:I'd never known that it was freely-available information.

Because you didn't even bother to look. Maybe it is maybe it isn't, that's why you check. There is no harm in it.

kinkinkijkin Wrote:Pretty much, that would've been like if I were to google whether or not high temperatures are dangerous to the CPU, except that I was wrong in what I had taken from my own observations.

But you SHOULD google that if you don't know or aren't sure. Assuming by "damage" you mean actual physical damage not just instability then that isn't something you could easily verify through observation either without detailed scientific testing.

Xtreme2damax Wrote:@NV wow, if you don't mind answering what is your job and position?

I kind of do mind. At least posting it in public since it would make it easy to track me down. I'll PM you. My position is still listed on my companies website as "math tutor" even though I haven't done that in probably 2-3 years.

It's nothing big. They just moved me to a different department. I get paid $1 extra an hour but it's a lot more work. So I don't really have time to browse/post much from work any more. Plus I keep raising my hours. I'm nearly fulltime at this point.

Not really a promotion. Just a case of them being short staffed in this department. I volunteered because I prefer the company of the people working their and it gives me a greater sense of importance to my coworkers. It's hard to show people that you're competant if your job doesn't require it. I might be promoted to a higher position in the near future since there is an opening but considering the number of applicants with way more experience than me I doubt it. On the plus side the person who's most likely to get the position as my new boss is my best friend.

Ahahaha.

No, I didn't collect data. Take into account that I've had this conclusion in my head since the days when I was trying to be a competitive TF2 player (~2012, look up some of my posts from 2012 in other places if you're bored and want your brain to burn*), and I was never given any reason to doubt it until now.

* = fun drinking game: read old posts of mine, and take a drink every time you read something stupid. You'll be hammered in mere minutes
Well admittedly I don't know much about you nor payed attention and haven't even looked at your profile heh. I have my own stuff to worry about lol and have no interest tracking anyone down that I met online over the internet even if they piss me off. I'd also respect someones wishes if they don't want to disclose anything or it being disclosed with anyone else.

Sorry.. I hadn't slept when I responded and have been going on posting sprees when I can't sleep. When I'm exhausted it screws with my reading comprehension and affects my spelling/grammar. I probably skimmed your post or missed that part so I wasn't aware of that when I decided to reply. Sad

Anyways back to TF2 stuffs..

Played a couple matches yesterday and ended on a team of newbs ofc. I came in like a wrecking ball and stated headshotting everyone in sight on the enemy team and managed to help my team capture first point. Helped my team when a match as a Sniper then went Demo to secure a victory, I never thought tweaking mouse settings and parameters would make so much of a difference.
