5hr and no break xD wanted to make some people mad but didn't work lol

You really shouldn't do that. The game has a big enough troll problem as it is.
It's too bad anyone under 17 couldn't be blacklisted from playing through requirement of supplying id or a credit card. That would probably address most of the troll problem although it would cause massive uproar. There are way too many egotistical kids with far too much free time that play this game. I've yet to find a mature community that addresses immaturity, trolling, trash talking and stacking teams.

That's sad. There has to be at least a couple hundred servers that have decent administration.
I do understand that ever since it got F2P there are a lot of troll servers, but you've been playing for years now.

Is the community really that shitty?
Nearly every server has people that stack teams. Scrambles rarely ever work because team stackers will re-stack by switching teams immediately after a scramble or being auto balanced. Nearly all servers are full of egotistical clanfags with Hale's Own stranges that don't like challenges or losing so they stack and pubstomp newbies. Most of the time these players are disrespectful young kids or adults with no responsibilities, very little social life (it seems) and too much free time. Valve servers are like this, Skial and Lotusclan servers are like this and pretty much every other clan server.
here is a performance test with 4k resolution:

This is why I believe "free to play" is inherently a bad idea for multiplayer games. The cost of the game acts as a filter that weeds out most of the worst types of gamers.

UG.

Switching teams is against the rules. All players are autoplaced on a team at random. And while there isn't always an admin around immaturity is usually fairly minimal if present at all.

Garteal Wrote:That's sad. There has to be at least a couple hundred servers that have decent administration.

There are. They're just hard to find.

Garteal Wrote:I do understand that ever since it got F2P there are a lot of troll players, but you've been playing for years now.

Fixed that for you. The servers are mostly fine except for the lack of admins. It's the players that suck.

Garteal Wrote:Is the community really that shitty?

No. He exaggerates. It's nowhere near as bad as other multiplayer games I've played.

Xtreme2damax Wrote:Nearly every server has people that stack teams.

True.

Xtreme2damax Wrote:Scrambles rarely ever work because team stackers will re-stack by switching teams immediately after a scramble or being auto balanced.

Not true. Team switching is usually disabled after a scramble. It's just that autobalance sucks at scrambling and sometimes the teams can still end up stacked or in many cases it will actually stack them worse than they were before.

Xtreme2damax Wrote:Nearly all servers are full of egotistical clanfags with Hale's Own stranges that don't like challenges or losing so they stack and pubstomp newbies.

Most servers don't even have clans online 99% of the time.

You can't really blame groups of players (clans) for sticking together (stacking) in a game about teamwork....

And yes teamwork + skilled players tends to equal victory.

Xtreme2damax Wrote:Most of the time these players are disrespectful young kids or adults with no responsibilities, very little social life (it seems) and too much free time.

Welcome to video games. People with no time to play video games tend to not play video games. That's why I haven't been on in almost a month.

And yes gamers tend to be young people with little social life because they stay indoors and play video games. If they had a social life they wouldn't stay indoors so much and if they were older they wouldn't have a choice. They would be working all day.

Find older clans that play on weekends (usually friday nights) instead of all the time if you want a group to hang around with. That's usually a good indication of maturity. Notice that I only play on friday nights and sometimes saturday night. That's when all of the adults are home from work and that tends to be when the player base quality is at its best.

Valve is like that because they're a pub. Skial and lotusclan are like that because they're enormous. Stay away from the big popular guys. Find a small niche group instead. This really applies to everything in life.

Edit:
I think I've replaced TF2 with a bunch of personal projects temporarily. I'm building a replica MP5 paintball gun out of a tippmann A5. And my ponds design is continually improved every week. The combination of chemistry, architecture, biology/zoology, and fluid dynamics is fascinating to me. I'm growing cultures of saltwater nitrosomonas and nitrospiras in preparation for my saltwater pond.
Alright I am slightly overreacting but it does seem like a large portion of the TF2 community and servers are like this. Even when I try to find another server I tend to run into the same players. What frustrates me is I am still bad at this game given the amount of hours I've been playing and someone with under a thousand hours or a little over a thousand hours plays better than i do. :/
Have you ever tried playing on competitive maps with competitive people? That's prolly the best way to get better.
Guys maybe this helps to get better hitdetection
this is what im using for years in tf2 and i love the hitdetection, default rates sucks & bad hitdetection... can't hit nothing:

fps_max 0

// Good connection
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_smooth 0
cl_smoothtime 0
cl_interp 0.0
cl_interp_ratio 0
cl_cmdrate 999999999999999
cl_updaterate 9999999999999999999
rate 100000
cl_resend 0

since i did this, i can headshot scouts in the air
