I plan on building a new computer and I was wondering if I can run all of the Wii/Gamecube games in 720p.
Specs:
Intel i5 2500k (Im going to overclock it to 4 ghz)
Sapphire Radeon 6870 1 GB ddr5
8 GB of DDR 3 RAM (1333 mhz)
BIOSTAR TP67B+ Motherboard
60 GB SSD
I also want to know if I can record in Fraps stable. My harddrive is 1 TB 7200 rpm...
should be more than enough

In that case! Will I be able to get up to 1920x1080p and record with Fraps on a seperate hard drive?
@TS no problem at all

like anon said, get pc12800 certified ram for better performance
but for overclocking. don't mess arround with baseclock

on sandy bridge, just play with multiplier. mess with baseclock more than 105MHz (default is 100MHz) and you might end up with fried component

i dont own Sandybridge so i wouldn't know, i can push another 40-45mhz on my fsb with stock voltage 45mhz+ requires a bit more juice.
so 240mhz x 16 = 3840mhz on stock voltage.
on sandy bridge, OC'ing is a bit different from the old days
you only need to mess with cpu multiplier, this will get you better result without affecting other component
OC'ing FSB (or bclk or base clock) on sandy bridge base pc, not so rewarding and to dangerous. the absolute limit roughly around +5MHz on baseclock before you'll start seeing components failing.
for K series with unlocked multiplier, this is quite easy, just change multiplier, adjust vcore if needed, and you're done

most candy bridge chip can get up to 4.4 even without adding voltage.
lol, even mine @4.2 using less than stock voltage.
for non-K series, certain model that have turbo boost (ever sandy bridge except i3) on p67/z68 board, there's extra +4 bin to add on turbo boost ratio to get extra 400MHZ clock when turbo boost is active
other than that, not much can be done
Should be pretty good to record and even better on a separate drive I imagine. I do fairly well with 30fps games on dolphin, though I can't record and play any games at 60fps so far. The only game at 60fps I've done so far I used frameskipping to make 30fps "regular speed" since youtube doesn't support 60fps anyway, no point to force it. And obviously the games that kind of teeter barely at 30frames without fraps are hard to maintain. Still, my processor is a good deal weaker than that and I only have the one harddrive, no extra to record on.
yes seperate drive would be preferable. though 1 fast drive should be enough

he should: 60gb SSD (boot + critical apps) + 3x1tb samsung spinpoint f3 in RAID0 (games and junk)
i ordered another 1tb f3 to add to my raid0, should be here in a few days, going to be fun rebuilding the raid, putting oses on, waiting 2+hrs copying junk from my backup drives, windows updates ,etc...
i also ordered another 200mm Cooler master mega flow fan (blue led), 2 x CoolerMaster 120mm Sickleflow fan (blue led) (to replace the fans on my h50 rad) and 2 x AKASA Black Velcro Cable Ties (5 per pack)
i had crossfire XFX 5850 BE but one died, so next i guess ill add a 5870, it has to be done as i only get like 45fps in blur (1920x1080, max settings) with one card
