Thundereus

Hi everybody,

First I want to say thanks very much to the developers for giving us dolphin to play our favorite GC/Wii games on the PC. =)

Now to topic!

It's the typical problem: Speed. We don't get always much of it and getting more is very hard. Either the hardware is to slow or the settings are wrong because the minimum VPS can't be reached.

So the reason why I made this thread is because I want to ask you if it is possible to use any VPS count for 100% speed because not every PC can reach those 50 / 60 VPS?
(Just the 1 billon FPS... if it wouldn't be locked to the ******* VPS. =P)

e.g.
(60FPS -) 43VPS - 100% Speed
or
(50FPS -) 25VPS - 100% Speed

I already know that the VPS is the rate of the emulated CPU frames of the emulated console. Or something like this...
(right?)

Well, is there any possiblity to skip those unreachable VPS? A hack, mod, plug-in, or configurable option ?

I tried almost every configuration (e.g. with or without the decoders (OpenMC, - CL)) to get full power but my CPU or my stupid RAM seems to be too slow.

I have got an ASUS G73JH - TZ172V
Windows 7 64-Bit
Intel I7 720QM 1,6-2,8 Ghz (With turbo overclocking from BIOS up to 2,92) (4 physical cores - 8 threads)
4GB Ram (Hynix) 1333Mhz (I already ordered 8GB from G-skill with also 1333Mhz)
ATI HD5870M - 1GB dediceded

Windows Index says: (even if this doesn't mean always anything)
CPU 7.1
RAM 5.9 <--- Could this be the problem?
GPU + GPU Aero 7.2
HDD 5.9 <--- Or this?

Games I don't get always 100% :
WII
Super Mario Galaxy: (average 49%)
Super Smash Bros Brawl: (average 90%)
New Super Mario Bros Wii: (average 50%) [Fixed Problem by using EFB Copies to Texture with object issues]

GC
The Legend of Zelda: four swords: (average 40%)
Mario Kart: Double Dash: (average 80%)

I hope you understand what I would like to know =F.

Thanks
Let me try a metaphor...

a(1) = 1, a(n) = 2*a(n-1)

This way, a(2) = 2*a(1) = 2, a(3) = 2*a(2) = 4, a(4) = 2*a(3) = 8 etc., as you take the previous value and multiply with 2.

But what if, you skip one step? Say a(3) is not calculated...

a(4) = 2*a(n-1) = 2*a(3) = undefined
a(5) = 2*a(n-1) = 2*a(4) = undefined
a(6) = 2*a(n-1) = 2*a(5) = undefined
a(7) = 2*a(n-1) = 2*a(6) = undefined
a(8) = 2*a(n-1) = 2*a(7) = undefined
a(9) = 2*a(n-1) = 2*a(8) = undefined

CORRUPTION! *CRASH* BSoD

Yes, you could use a(n) = 2^(n-1) to independently calculate any a(n). But Dolphin can't wizardly analyze all math and tell games to do that if they were written to use a(n) = 2*a(n-1).

BTW: I prioritized having fun coughing up mathematical shit rather than answering comprehendingly.
lol i was expecting some miracle hack.

GET A MORE POWERFUL COMPUTER !!!

Erm..^^ yep... but I don't think this is needed to happen wizardly.

There could exist something like an option to just calculate the emulation like an engine from a PC game which also just uses available frames from the GPU in 100% speed and not in 50% because there are jut 15FPS. (e.g. Crysis)
Because less FPS in games don't slow down the game itself into slowmotion it should be possible to fix this, isn't it?
I know this is easier said than done but maybe there is a solution...or an enhancment patch.

Then pay to me 1300€ Wink Thanks. It is already A POWERFUL and new COMPUTER/ Gaming-Notebook *derp* ...

Anyway your post is absolutely unuseful like shit...sry. Of course I would like more power but this is at the moment not a fast solution.

yes, powerful + gaming + notebook <- these words dont fit together ?
2,9ghz is powerful?
come on never played on a 5ghz sandybridge?
rig cost 1000-1100 dollar

never said 2.9ghz is powerful just saying powerful + gaming + notebook dont fit together.

Actually it depends which game you're playing to of course we're talking about 128bits systems here but some "cheaper" systems exist and work perfectly I just wanted to remember that Tongue
