Yeah, kind of as I suspected... If I'm not mistaken, the 0xC000007B error code means that the application tried to directly load a x64 DLL into a x86 application, or a x86 DLL into a x64 application. To me, when you download a DLL from the Internet, you usually don't know if it's x86 (32-bit functionality) or x86-64 (native 64-bit functionality) ; it sounds to me like these downloadable DLLs are usually 32-bit, as I don't recall ever getting the above error code this way. Isn't it hard for those websites to at least say if a particular DLL comes from a 64-bit installation or from a 32-bit one?
Long story short, if you get 0xC000007B using any individually downloaded DLLs, delete them and try again. Then, for example, if a 64-bit application complains about a missing DLL, properly install the 64-bit DLL with the proper downloadable package, or download the 64-bit DLL and put it in the right place (are there two separate places when using a 64-bit OS with 32-bit compatibility?)
if you manage to find one on the Internet...
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or inaccurate.
ok, as i didnt start this thread, i didnt do like www123, the only downloaded .dll i used was the IESHIMS.DLL file, and after placing it, i still get the same error as before, but, Dependency Walker says it is VCOMP100.DLL that's x86, and it was installed by the c++ distro.
ok, so i tried installing the c++ x86 distro, and THEN repaired the 64bit, same thing, maybe i'll uninstall them, and try later, I dunno, this is crazy just to TRY and see if my game will work.
when running Depends.exe i get 5 files that are red:
KERNEL32.DLL (64)
MSVCRT.DLL (64)
SHLWAPI.DLL (64)
IESHIMS.DLL (HOURGLASS)
IEFRAME.DLL (64) (HOURGLASS)
I have NO idea what this means, i've never been a programmer, i am an END USER =) i use the stuff you guys write, and generally let people know the kinds of bugs i run into, but this, this is all new to me, the 64bit, this is my first 64bit OS, and having never dealt with a different 64bit problem like this, its taking a me a little while to learn this curve. sorry for all the confusion and such.
Being deployed in Afghanistan makes it difficult to get to some software tools and websites and such i'd normally use to help out, and like i stated earlier, my connection SUX. =(
anyway, thanks for the attempt to help, and if i can be of assistance in trying something out to get this going, let me know. i know i'm not the only one that had this problem, as i've seen the # of views go up all day on this forum. ok take care all!
Well Tymas if you can trust me, send me a private massage with your mail and I can send those files from my computer to you (no service pack).
UPDATE: its working!
dummy me, i forgot, even in NEW winblows setups, sometimes you just gotta REBOOT, once i rebooted, and tried 3.0 64bit, came right up, crazy eh?
thanks for all your help, and yes my game is working fabulously! been stuck in Afghanistan with only a laptop and a slow connection for months now, been using the old school console emu's, and was like, hey i bet i can get my kids to dump my GC games and then i can d/l on here and play!, yeah, that didnt almost work. But now, we are good to go, and I get to play my much loved, Digimon World 4!
