It's a Benq 1200p 24" and the power button is now stuck bended inwards and I can't click it or pull it out. OH CRAP!
I guess I finally got my punishment for actually turning the screen off while not using it... I must have around 2000-3000 presses, these things are probably product tested only to be pressed a few times ever. (I don't know what I was thinking.)
So now that I can't turn the screen off, and maybe not on, once it's off, I wonder what my steps will be from here...
Take it apart and get the button working again?
Good idea if you are sure you can fix it... problem is, now the screen is working... but I'm not sure if it still will after I remove the button, like say a wire is pulled along with it (can someone tell this for sure?)
On the bright side, I got into the university today. PHYSICSSSSSSS

just let the screensaver shut down the monitor into standby... its enough and taks 0.1watt-2watt
i would open that shit and fix it. its a button, shouldn't have anything special that you can't get elsewhere in a shop like radioshack or what have you
Even though the monitor still uses power while in idle, you could just let the monitor sleep instead of total power off.

sometimes thats not a good idea
like for me i have 2 inputs attached. if i disconnect the DVI the screen would jump to the analogue VGA and my screen would either be the TV signal or completely blue
that, and some ppl dont like the power usage eventho its sometimes only 1W like my monitor

Oil is not conductive. Those huge gray transformer cylinder on powerlines are filled to the brim with oil.
