I think I may have a fix. I'm brand new to Dolphin, so bear with me if any of this sounds wrong; I am a noob Saibot.

Okay. Using the test idea from the Brawl player up there, and the thought of loading a savestate from the OP, I came up with this;

First, I start Dokopon Kingdom normally, no netplay.

I start a New Game, Story Mode.

I set it to 2 Players.

I create both characters.

I set the controllers for them to Controller 1 and Controller 2. (Making sure ahead of time to have those and the emulated Wii Remote connected in Dolphin)

I start the game, and Save State.

Now, I start my double Dolphin test. I host on one, and connect on the other.

I set the control pads to 1 in slot 1 for player one, and 2 in slot 2 for the connected player.

I start the game. Then, I Load the Save State I created earlier on each running emulation.
I wait for the first line of narration to finish with the Castle. I believe it syncs there.

I'll note here that the game does NOT freeze up, requiring the Wii Remote 1. My theroy is that it ONLY needs it until a game is started, and all Player Characters are sot to be controlled by GC Controllers.

Now, this is where I get uncertain. My thoughts are, if I can copy, and email my Save State file to my Netplay partner...we could repeat the process on our own computers. That is; I start the game hosting, we both load the Save State I pre-created, and play from there.

Problem, Dokapon?

But really, I can't test this yet. But give it a try, please. I've been desperate to get DK to Netplay for months, and this is the closest I've ever been. I can FEEL IT.
