PILEDRIVER VS IVYBRIDGE?

Ivy Bridge Big Grin
Atm, we dont know much about piledriver so who knows AMD might just do good this time, not
Yes we do, AMD has already put up a lot of documents on it. Even they aren't expecting much, minor improvement to IPC (~10-15%), minor improvement to energy efficiency and increase to clock rate mainly due to new clock mesh technology being introduced, and 10 cores/5 modules.

PILEDRIVER VS IVYBRIDGE?

None
Trinity vs Ivybridge is the more interesting battle.
......but those platforms are aimed at completely different markets, they're not in direct competition.
The desktop is dead or that is what they keep saying. If it wasn't for GloFo's crappy yields Llano would probably be taking a lot of Intel's laptop sales and possibly made its way into a Mac. ATM IB is slower than Llano.

ahahahahaha, in there dreams maybe.

.......I doubt it. Intels cpus are a lot faster except for the IGP which is only really useful for super low budget gamers. Llano also has the advantage of being cheaper.

In IGP performance. In everything else ivy bridge kicks its ass, and hard. Intels IGP is good enough for everything except 3D rendering, which means it's good enough for 99% of users. And most of the people who need a decent GPU for 3D rendering will buy a discrete gpu because llanos IGP is still slow as balls compared to all but the worst discrete GPUs.

There are two kinds of people that will buy llano:
1. Those that don't want to spend the extra money needed to buy sandy bridge/ivy bridge
2. Those that want a gpu good enough to play modern games at lower settings/resolution but without buying a discrete gpu which takes up a lot of space.
