You're looking at it wrong. It sucks for us enthusiasts if AMDs flagship desktop CPUs suck but they represent the least amount of sales. AMD's Fusion APUs are better than Atom and SNB's IGP. BD might be salvagable for servers, and Intel's cheapest quad is $177 so AMD still wins at cheap.
Quote:Yes... I have been raised with Intel. I am an Intel fanboy.

Being raised on Intel does not make you a fanboy. Allow me to quote urban dictionary so that we can establish a good definition of the term:
Quote: fanboy

1. A person who is completely loyal to a game or company reguardless of if they suck or not.
2. A pathetic insult often used by fanboys themselves to try and put down people who don't like whatever it is they like.

"If you don't worship SEGA and send them all your money and pay $500 for the copy of Panzer Dragon I'm selling on ebay then your obviously a Sony fanboy even though I've never heard you mention a single thing about Sony the entire five minutes I've known you." Said the SEGA Fanboy.

"Yeah but the SNES didn't have Blast Processing" Said the Sega fanboy.

"FF7 sucks" Said the SEGA Saturn fanboy.

Fanboys have no ability to recognize an inferior product if it belongs to a company that they like. They also have no ability to recognize the strengths of products from competing companies. They often resort to psychological defense mechanisms and marketing terms when cornered with the cold hard facts of their companies inferiority in a particular area.

Quote:I may sound like a dick but for me AMD don't have a future in the CPU market, they're just too weak.

This is an irrational opinion. It's not based on evidence and even worse than that it directly contradicts the history of the two companies. I don't recognize you as a fanboy yet but statements like this get you closer to earning that reputation.

Quote:I really hate to say this but I was right, every word you just wrote confirmed that.

You are a fanboy and you sound just like a dick.
Check and mate...

Stop being so god damn hard on him. Calling him a dick and a fanboy isn't going to get you anywhere.

That's not his original point:
Quote:AMD is NOT known for their lightning-fast processors but instead their lower prices.
AMD will always be number 2 on the CPU market with Intel as the number 1 ruler.

Intel provides super high quality lightning-fast processors and that's the truth.

Although his more recent post seems to have shifted gears a bit talking about being successful in the market rather than having the fastest chip.
"3d tri gates" + 22nm
...
good bye
(i dont want to wasted words, for some irrelevant facts)
I love discussions like these, this could go on forever and ever.

All I can say is that I have a neutral opinion about all this.
AMD is good in what they do and Intel is good in what they do.

Intel and Sandybridge might have the upperhand for the moment, but we'll just have to see what AMD have to offer in the future.

This thread isn't a discussion, it's a troll fest at worst and a bunch of baseless assumptions and opinions at best. Nobody seems to want to discuss the technical aspects of either chip.

By the way just so you know gabriel, dannzen has become our resident troll.

Yes, this is what was inferred.

they don't even do that anymore.

1999 I was a 14 year old kid so I didn't had that kind of money to buy a PC.
My parents did bought the PCs back then but not just for me, for the whole family to use.

I still remember that PC, a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo with ta da a Pentium III and a ATi card that I no longer remembers the name of.
I played all sorts of stuff, mainly Quake and Motocross Madness.

and im not a fanboy, but Intel is the better chipmaker, has the better direction and isn't doing stupid shit like sharing the most important cache on the cpu/

I'm sorry to hear that actually.

I feel guilty and bad for throwing gasoline into the fire here with the assumptions I made.

Yeah I can't say I disagree with you there, I like Intel and they have been reliable.
But I think it's harsh like Mav said that AMD is weak and have no future.
Of course they have a future, if not for desktop CPUs then instead server CPUs
