They never hand crafted the entire core. They hand crafted certain parts of the core, software is always necessary to speed up the development process to a reasonable pace.

I just can't resist posting here despite that I said I'm out but when I read that article and especially this part:
"AMD is known for lighting-fast PC processors that are often more powerful than those of its much bigger rival, Intel."
I honestly didn't know what to belive here.
Are they serious???
AMD is NOT known for their lightning-fast processors but instead their lower prices.
AMD will always be number 2 on the CPU market with Intel as the number 1 ruler.
Intel provides super high quality lightning-fast processors and that's the truth.

So I take it you weren't alive between 1999 and 2005 then?
Quote:I would guess his parents bought the PC's back then.
Probably there's a 90% chance they bought PC's with a Pentium III or a Pentium 4 CPU for him.

But I would love to be proved wrong Maverick. Don't get me wrong but you do sound like an Intel fanboy.

1999 I was a 14 year old kid so I didn't had that kind of money to buy a PC.
My parents did bought the PCs back then but not just for me, for the whole family to use.
I still remember that PC, a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo with ta da a Pentium III and a ATi card that I no longer remembers the name of.
I played all sorts of stuff, mainly Quake and Motocross Madness.
Yes... I have been raised with Intel. I am an Intel fanboy.
I may sound like a dick but for me AMD don't have a future in the CPU market, they're just too weak.
