Hmm cheats enabled you say...
The probability of Dolphin crashing is always higher with cheats enabled.
I haven't really tested any cheats for the last couple of thousand revisions but I know for a fact that the slightest fault in any of the codes will crash Dolphin hard.
I don't use cheats any longer though, I tend to delete the codes for the games I play, don't want to risk anything.
I never have cheats enabled (or are there cheats enabled by default?)

No I don't think that there is any cheats on by default for any game.

There's usually not any good cheats for most of the games anyway so why bother with them, but in rare occasions like in Wind Waker, the All figurines code was quite handy.
There's absolutely no chance I would have patience taking that many pictures, but that's about it I guess.


I must be confused as to the function of "cheats enabled". I enabled because I thought that was what facilitated the options of the iso properties. MMU, MMU speed hack, etc. I actually don't run any gecko codes or "Cheats". If it is enabled and a search was performed for the cheat codes, would the codes automaticlly be applied? or do I still have to input the desired code for the cheat specific to a game?

As for your question I don't think they're automatically applied but instead you choose the cheats from the list in the cheat tab, and you tick a little check box for the cheats you want to use.

I have actually never tried those, from the game option list I usually just take Dual Core and Idle Skipping and leave the rest unticked/unchecked.
Most of my games runs perfectly fine with just Idle skipping and Dual core, maybe that's why it hasn't crashed for me yet.
It's mostly GC games that need MMU and MMU Speed Hack. And most of those games which do need it, have it enabled by default via game ini. I don't fiddle around with those, so that's not the reason for the crashes.

Lucky me, I don't even think I own a game that have it enabled by default or using it at all.
That goes for the rest of the odd options.
Well then, I'm glad that can be ruled out then.

I had a thought about scaled EFB setting being removed from the configuration. Was that removed or permanently enabled? It was one of the settings I always needed enabled.
So I got the crashes worked out now:

On the previous version I used (67**) it started giving infinite FIFO errors (counting up the numbers) and crashed the same way if I click "no" on those errors. So it kind of crashes faster now. Also this happens after like 10 minutes of gameplay!?.

I use Soluto, it analyzed process crashes and such. It said it is probably caused by XAudio. (Yes, it said that!)

HLE and LLE audio made no difference, btw.

Switching to DirectSound solved the problem!

EDIT: ... NOT.

It crashed again. It took longer than before, this time Soluto says caused by Dolphin.exe *rolleyes*. Tongue

Random crashes with no explanation(just closes) is what I think we are talking about here.

From 7608(my first version) onwards I saw frequent closes(1 every half hour to hour average). I tried to fiddle with it(dual or no dual core, DSP changes, many other combinations) nothing worked.

After I changed to previous versions like 6505 or 6515 now I very rarely get random closes(crashes). Almost perfect + speed increase. The most recent versions does not fix any of the graphics problems in the games I test anyways.

If you have to stick with the latest versions for the games you want play I found with my many hours of settings testing that "render to main window" and/or changing the sound to LLE vs HLE gave me more time between crashes.
