I think it will work tell me befor i buy it or if it doesnt i will get cyborpower gameing laptop

it will work, but you prob wont get 100% speed in most games.

the 67xx sucks and its mobile version so itll suck even more.

Not really, but his CPU is slow.

BULLSHIT to both of you, 6770 is great just like the 5770, he can easily play 720p without AA, maybe some. It's as good as a GTS 450. Also, it's a fucking 2nd gen i7! Who cares if it's a mobile version, that's damn good for Dolphin! I hate how everyone around here says shit like core 2 duos won't work and stuff like that, and think just because there PC is amazing, that only there PC and better will work with it :/

I rectify it isn't said it's a shit it's said he may find better your config for example that ain't so far from one of mine Tongue
I am switching from:

HP DV6T-6100 with i7-2630QM 2.0Ghz CPU and ATI 6770M 1GB GPU (DDR5 on GPU) 1080p display

to

Dell E6520 with i7-2720QM 2.2Ghz CPU and Nvidia 4200M 512MB GPU (DDR3 on GPU) 1080p display

Smile Smile

I have set both systems to use the Intel graphics for benchmarking the CPU speed difference (2.0ghz vs 2.2Ghz). The difference is as expected, ~10% boost. Switching on the GPU, the difference is dramatic: My testing on Windows 7 x64 has shown that the "slower" Nvidia is far faster than the "faster" ATI! Maybe the Nvidia DirextX 11 drivers and how Dolphin uses them is better‽‽‽

To get even more interesting, I've going to play with an external GPU! The E6520 has an expresscard slot i'm going to try 1x PCI Express GPU outside the laptop. I've got an EVGA GTX 460 1GB to try out. The PCI 1x mode is limiting, but this laptop should work with a PCI Express compression mode that Nvidia Optimus has that mostly compensates. i don't have endless time for Dolphin benchmarking... but I wanted to offer up the difference I observed.

Another observation: Despite the NVS 4200M being marketed for OpenGL, Dolphin does significantly better FPS in DirectX11 mode than it does in OpenGL mode on the Nvidia card.

Has anyone really looked close at the Dolphin DirectX 11 difference between ATI and Nvidia drivers?

P.s. rajwii64 - the HP DV7 you are considering is motherboard and CPU identical to the HP DV6 I'm sending back, except my DV6T-6100 was 1080p 15.6" display. I would say this system is generally underpowered for Dolphin. Side by side comparison, for an extra $150 to $200, I suggest at least upgrading to the 2.2Ghz CPU... and I'm not fully certain, but an ATI GPU might prove better with Dolphin due to the drivers.
opengl fast
dx11 faster
dx9 fastest

for dolphin

I hate to pull out my epenis, but that is grossly oversimplified conclusions. I've been doing benchmarking for over 25 years!

OpenGL on Winodws 7 with ATI Catalyst 11.6 is not equal to Ubuntu 11.04 Catalyst 11.6 with Dolphin. I wish that Linux had the better drivers that ATI has developed for Apple with OSX. And DirectX 11 on ATi is not equal to Nvidia! The drivers for my NVS 4200M are different from the ones that Nvidia ships for the gaming/consumer systems too...

In my testing of latest SVN 7669 builds in Punch-Out! - I have found situations where the DirectX 11 is faster than DirectX 9 on Dolphin. AND, it also makes a difference if dual-core or quadcore CPU! As the Nvidia driver seems to really use a lot of the host CPU on my 4200M. My Dell E6520 lets me turn the system to only 2 cores in BIOS, and the difference is more dramatic with DirectX - and not so much OpenGL. Dolphin emulation is really pushing the limits of the CPU on this system, so it's a real complex equation (the i7 Turbo is another factor, as are the thermal throttle that kicks in).

Again, don't oversimplify, it is damn complicated Wink
dont use notebooks for gaming...
its simple or?
oh wait... iam playing with the wiimote smg2 while in a train
swinging the mote singing the song...
after 1hour everything is over... batteries low

hey... thats a reason...
im driving ones in a month with the train...
because of that iam buying overpriced hardware

there is not a reason spending time with the person iam driving to..
