Firstly I have the latest direct x and c++, I am using revision 7612, which is working acceptably for now, I have tried to update to versions 7631,32,33 and when I try to run a game I get no picture(black), but the Iso seems to be running.
What's the exact process for updating? I just downloading the revision(to same folder as previous version) and selecting extract here, when I run dolphin the revision number does change, so I presume it worked, but what's with the black screens? Is this common when updating to new revisions? Am I doing this right?
Sorry for all these questions, these black screens are starting to annoy me a bit, I'm using 64 bit dolphin, windows 7.

I only tried a few, super mario wii and galaxy 2. I'll check some more, so am I updating right?
its only doing it in open gl mode, direct 3d9 seems to be working
Is direct 3d, more stable and less prone to crashes then open gl?

Maybe I should reset graphics options before updating, then again it was on open GL when made my first update to 7612 and that worked o.k.
Im getting Black screens on Auto Modellista now in the new Revs also anything before 3.0 games works good! but now Black screens! any help with this game?

What revision does dolphin 3.0 start at?

Thanks, I have it stable on 7612 at the moment.
I did download version 3 and extract it, so does that mean I'm on version 3 or because I'm only on 7612 is it still version 2, slightly confusing.
When I select about, in dolphin it says the revision but it doesn't say if its version 2 or 3, so is it automatically version 3 after revision 7622? How do I know its version 2 or 3?
No if you doenloaded version 7623 and extracted it and replaced the files with 7612 then your on 7623 or whatever version you downloaded and extracted..it says in the title bar of dolphin which Rev. your currently running..Yes I had it running stable also on 7612,I just dont like the textures and the non anti aliasing int hat version i cant seem to make it look smooth even with 16x FF and 9x AA and force texture filtering on!
Got it looking smooth now just have to turn off AA and force textures and 16 x AF..Cool i can deal with using 7612 just for that game..!

Please I don't want to confuse revisions and versions, so am I to understand that even though I was running version 2, when I update the revision past 7622 its is automatically version 3, with all the improvements and whatnot, and I don't have to download the version 3 separately from the revision page and start my game saves over, and have to configure all the settings again, to get the benefits of dolphin version 3.
I downloaded the version 3, when I checked the "about" option it said it was version 3, when I updated it with a revision the revision number replaced the version, but I new it was version 3 because I just downloaded it, I don't want to use it, because It will be a pain to configure it and I don't want to start my back up iso's over.
Just copy over top of rev 7612 with one of the new revs. when it asks to copy and replace(should be the first option) just click yes for all when it asks to merge folders click yes for all and then it will ask to skip ssome folders just click skip..ive been updating every single revision this way and still have all my saves you shouldn't have a problem
